My son got engaged yesterday!!!!

Yep...my son popped the question yesterday! There's only 2 problems though.

A. He'll only be 5 years old in Nov.
B. He asked is first cousin (who is 4) to marry him.

I think he really fell in love with her a few days ago when we stopped by her house. She was sitting on her playroom floor playing with 2 hermit crabs that she just got. My son Luke thinks that girls think every bug, snake, frog, & crab is yucky. So when he saw her playing with them his whole face lit up. He looked at her and said: "Devon, you are the coolest & bravest girl I ever saw "

So, yesterday while we were in Target he saw a ring that he wanted me to get for her. It was just costume jewelry -but it was really pretty.

He wanted to stop by her house and when we did - he got down on one knee and said "Devon, will you marry me?" She said "YES!" There are a few rules that he made on the relationship though: They both agreed that he will live with his mom and dad and she will live with hers. He told her that she HAS to like black pick up trucks cause that's what he is buying soon.

I wonder how they will like hearing this story in 12 years!

Very sweet. Last year my neice was proposed to. They were both 5. He gave her a ring.

A real diamond ring.

The teacher called the young man's mom and returned the ring to her. They are no longer engaged.

Just make sure you take pictures of them now to use as visual aids while you are telling them the story in 12 years. It will make it much more......uh, meaningful....

Wow! Your son is very advanced!! My 5 yo son thinks all girls are yucky no matter what!! Heck I think he *just* tolerates me!!

Anyway, congratualtions. I'm sure you will make a great mother in law!!
now we get to watch for her DIL to post how mean she is b/c they can't even live in the same house!!!
