My 18 yro got an AP survey a few days ago. I went thru the questions with him. I'm not sure how much of the target group we are. We bought the APs last spring because we wanted to go to the parks for 7 days. The price for the 5 + 2 day park hoppers wasn't much less than the deluxe AP plus we were all able to utilize the discounts for our food/merch purchases. We did comment in several areas in various ways that we are AP holders because they don't offer a long enough park hopper ticket. It's that simple. DH & I are going back for a short trip next month. Beyond that we have zero plans to return. Our boys will only ever have used their passes for the one trip. So maybe Disney didn't get the exact perspective they wanted from us but there's definitely good, useful info in what we had to say.

I too wish they offered 6 or 7 day passes. We're planning to go in October, I think. We'd get there Sat, park on Sunday. We won't leave til the following Saturday, but may not go to the parks that day. But that still gives me 6 days. We could go elsewhere for one day, but I'd like to take my time this trip, do some sit down meals and spread things out. We did 5 days (non hopper) last time and I could have going longer.

we are planning on going next fall as well and will be doing 6 park days. We have decided to do a 5 day hopper and the Halloween party. We will do the party on a non park day and sleep in, shop in DTD, maybe a character breakfast to get our disney fix. It is cheaper than buying an extra day and we can get into the park at 3 or 4 with the party ticket :)

I thought of this too. We may have to do that. DD would like to visit Legoland again but I'm not sure we want to make that drive again. I considered Universal as well, but the kids will be 4 and 7 and not very interested in anything they have to offer except for Despicable Me. Not worth the drive for just that--I can visit Universal when they're older.

When are you planning to go?

Would you have gone on this short trip if not for the APs? This is what Disneyland wants. Get you to buy APs and then make extra trips that you wouldn't have if you didn't have the APs.

Hard to say. Probably. We might've done a short cruise. We might have flown out to San Francisco for a few days. But the tickets were covered so we chose the parks. Won't be happening again for sure. ;)

This is our situation. We make one "big" trip of 5 or more days. So we buy an AP so we can go the 6th and 7th days after we have done other stuff that day such as go to the beach. But since we have the APs we plan a few shorter trips to utilize the pass and "get our money's worth" lol.

I know we fell into this trap. Bought APs because we had two planned trips and ended up adding several more because we had passes.

We bought our APs because we wanted a 5 day trip last month and another next November. It save a little money. But yes, they are getting us back in a few months, and maybe even another trip. I don't feel like it's a trap. I feel like I'm going on an extra I want to go on to a place I want to go, and the entertainment costs me nothing. Pretty good deal.
