My son found out he has a famous relative...

...and now I'll NEVER hear the end of it!!

Last week at my sister in law's funeral, which BTW was so beautiful and fitting of her life, I met so many wonderful members of my ex's family.

The Millers are a remarkable family. Michael's grandfather, who died before I met my ex, had an incredible group of brothers. I spent most of the time realizing WHY Michael was who he is, it was like seeing him grown!

One missing relative was a cousin named Percy. Everyone was talking about him, so I asked.

It turns out Cousin "Percy" is a rapper by the name of Master P, or in Michaels world Little ROMEO'S DAD!

Who? I said??

Well, I was subjected to a weekend of Nickelodeon and the Romeo! Show... and needless to say now Michael has bragging rights. I cannot count how many kids have knocked on my door to ask "is Michael really....???
YES!! Enough already!

Lot good it does us but at least Mike can grin a bit harder about his bloodline for a minute! BTW, I found out Master P holds the Guinness World record as wealthiest records producer... http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/content_pages/record.asp?recordid=52302, ya THINK I can bug him for a loan?????

Master P's kids (Percy, Vercy and Intylyana) use to go attend the school where I taught. That was before Little Percy (Romeo) became famous. I taught the little sister for the first few weeks of school before they moved. She was a very shy and quiet little girl- very different than her older brothers.

How cooool, you actually met them! Michael is relentless is his intention to contact them, maybe we will during the holidays.

Personally, I was more impressed with the preacher uncle I met who finally made me understand Michael's height, faith and inability to stop talking!!

First heard of Percy in Fort Wayne playing basketball in the CBA. Yeah, he was a rapper, but this was no publicity stunt. He was serious about it. Related to Master P, Yeah you'll never hear the end of it

Thats awesome, hmm maybe you can get invited to some kind of reunion. That would be so cool for Michael. Send the card etc.
I just found out we may be related to some guy who stirred up a whole bunch of trouble at our church. I really dont like him, but his wife is nice and they are dvc owners, hmm, is that in the blood, but I told her I would send a copy of my grandmas birth certificate so they can look at it , compare, see what they have etc. Never know where this will take you robin. I only met Master P's wife and daughter. I think Percy (Romeo) was in second grade at the time and still just a normal kid (not famous yet). The big deal was always made about Master P because one of his rap videos was popular at the time. I never saw Master P at school and then they moved only a few weeks into the school year.

I bet your son is really excited!

I didn't know sooner because this is the side of Michael's family we only see rarely, Michael's grandma had Michael's Dad and all of her children with her first husband but has since remarried after his death. They are a huge group of incredible people that I am just getting to know.

Believe me, MScott, ALL I hear is the Lil Romeo side....

I'm not familar with the music, either, but I bet if I asked my 13yo DS he would know. He turns the rap on, I turn it off and tell him it's not music. Hehehe, sounds like what my mother used to tell me 30 years ago. How neat for your son!
