This is from a kid that will eat anything at home...sushi, any kind of veggie you can think of, any and all fruits, yogurt by the truckload, etc etc....

The lunch box, however must contain: One sandwich (PB, lunch meat or tuna) 3 baby carrot sticks, (not 2, not 4) 3-5 roasted garlic Triscuits, and a juice box. What is UP with that!?! I'm not worried about him because he does eat well at home, but when it comes to that lunchbox, that's it, that's all he wants. He doesn't throw a fit if I put anything else in, he just won't eat it. I tried sneaking a pudding cup thingy in once. Nice try Mom. It came back home. I thought maybe it was a "cool kid" image issue, so I asked him if the other kids had the pudding, yogurt, thingys, the little bags of chips, etc... Oh yeah, all the time he says... but then went on to tell me he still thought they were "uncool". Ok, I give up. A sandwich, 3 baby carrot sticks, (not 2, not 4) 3-5 roasted garlic Triscuits and a juice box it is. Oh well...makes lunch making in the morning easy for me. :teeth: I have an odd child.

that lunch is easy. I have to think about what is good to trade.

How old is Cam again? He sounds like the perfect match for my dd.:p She's a little on the eccentric side herself at times. I don't know where she gets that oddness from.;)

The school year is young, Kama. He may start to get tired of the same-old by mid-term.

My kid insists on carrying enough snacks for a safari. I think he trades them or something.

Unfortunately, that's more or less been his lunch menu for the last 3 years now, so I doubt that it'll change too much. I suppose I shouldn't complain, it makes things easy for me, but I swear...I get bored just THINKING about eating the same thing day after day after day! It dawned on me this morning, why I think it bugs me. I always wanted to make his lunches kind've special. It's something from home, something from me for the middle of his day, etc...so always wanted to try to do something out of the ordinary or special for him. Sigh...oh well. It's no biggie really. More than anything, I just find it a little strange, when he's so willing to eat anything at home. :)

Luckily the trading isn't an issue for us. They're not supposed to trade food at school. Of course they do anyway, but he never really seems to care one way or another. HEY! Maybe that's it...maybe he doesn't want anyone messing with his lunch, and let's face it... how many kids are going to try to trade for carrot sticks!? :teeth:

Shannon, Cam is 12. Yeah, who knows where they get their quirks from. Certainly not you and me... I know I'm COMPLETELY normal.

Kama, my cousin is the same way...she eats the same EXACT thing everyday. Except my aunt puts in little notes and stickers and suprises in her lunchbox so she gets something new everyday, even though its the same old lunch.

Uh, you just described my ds.:teeth: He loves carrot sticks-and he'll trade for them if he can get some ranch dressing on the side.;)

I know, you and I are both so normal, I have no idea how our kids coulld be so odd. They must get it from their dads.:p

Cam is 3 yrs older than Sara. Interesting.:p

That sure makes it easy to plan lunch!! :) On the other hand, it's a bit, um, redundant. At least he's not wanting a lunch box full of oreos!! You can keep them all to yourself that way!! :teeth:

Okay, now for the important question from all of this. What is the theme of his lunchbox? Spongebob? Disney? Spam? :teeth: ;)

I bet it's one of 3:
1. Timon doing the hula
2. Apolo
3. Star Wars

My kids lunch boxes aren't boxes. They're the collapsable ones. Sara's is blue and Dakota's is black. In case anyone was wondering.:p

Cam sounds pretty normal to me compared to his mom there Kim ;)

Count your lucky stars. You have a kid that will eat carrots and juice:)

Now Jay...you should know me better than that. Can you see me eating Oreos? ;) As far as the lunchbox theme is concerned... hee hee... how'd ya guess? :) Spongebob!!! Now if it were MY lunchbox.....

OMG...if I tried to hand a lunch box like THAT to Cam to take to school, I can just see the eyerolls he'd give me. ROTFL!!!! I can think of a couple of Moms at school, that might try to wrestle him to the ground for it though. :)

Shannon, Your son would trade for carrot sticks! :teeth: That's so cute!!!

Cam is 3 yrs older than Sara. Interesting.
Hmmmm.... that IS interesting! :teeth: *Very interesting* :)

LMBO!!!!!!!! there is our big laugh for today.
What's so funny?!? Geesh! :jester:

Wagamama... That's a good idea! I used to do the notes too, but as he got older I started to wonder if it embarrassed him. :( I haven't asked him though...I guess I should.

Guess I'm in store for a LONG lunch career of yogurt, juice box, and fruit snacks!! That's all Emily ate last year and what she asked for on her first day this year......SHE'S 4!!!!

You say Cam is 12 and eating the same thing for 3 years..... ....... I better buy some Dannon stock!!

True. I should know that you wouldn't have Oreos. You'd have Nutter Butters!

Hee hee hee... Spongebob just popped in my mind for some reason! :) Hey, did you see they have a Spongebob aquarium set? A 1.5 gallon tank, Bikini Bottom backdrop & a little Spongebob character. Of course, you can buy other characters to go with it. Fish not included (I would hope!! ).

Hey Kim, what happened to the vegemite sandwich?? That's a good healthy lunch if ever there was one!:p :p

Oh & repititioin...............No.1 son has smooth Peanut Butter sangas every day for his school lunch. :)

At least your DS will eat carrots! Only my 12 year old will eat carrots. The others wouldn't touch them w/ a 10-foot pole!

Two of my boys eat PB&J everyday, and 2 eat bologna & cheese everyday. That is the only thing they eat the same everyday.
:teeth:
