and I don't have another battery! I know, we were supposed to change our batteries when we changed our clocks last weekend. My dilemma now is - do I suffer the intermittent chirping all night, bite the bullet, get out of my jammies and go to the store, or just pull out the battery for the night? I have 2 other detectors in the house....

I vote for pulling the battery for the night. If one of the other detectors in the house uses the same battery you could take that battery for the bedroom smoke detector.

I can't stand that kind of beeping.

Once I was in a hotel room and the smoke detector was beeping and I called the front desk complaining about the beeping and also pulled the battery anyway.

I'd bite the bullet and go get another battery. I have heard tooooo many stories of where the homes had smoke detectors with no battery. They forgot to get a new one.

I don't mean to scare you or anything. If you can't get out, I'd wear earplugs or something. You will be able to hear the alarm anyway.

Pull out the battery and get a new one tomorrow, since you have two other detectors.

Find another device in the house that has a 9 volt - kids toy, etc... and pull it. You can replace it in the toy when you get a new battery.
