My sister's going to be a CM-I gotta go visit her! TR LINK UP! p. 21

Nice Plans!:thumbsup2 Which MNSSHP are you going to? Are you going to dress up?
Well, if you need any info about MNSSHP I can tell you after I get back at the end of Sept!

I am going to the party on Oct. 30. One of the last ones! I've been to one Halloween party before (plus MVMCP and the old Pirate & Princess Party) so I kind of know what to expect but I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it.

An October trip sounds fun! I would love to go back at that time.
I loved MNSSHP! and F&W was fun to try things without committing to a big meal. Most of what we tried we really liked.

Glad you were able to get a room at SSR.

At first I was kind of bummed about having to cancel the Dec. trip but I definitely think it'll be fun to go back in October. Between Dad's AP newsletter and my Disney Visa Rewards newsletter, I'm so excited for the fall events.

Congrats on both Saratoga Spring and Food and Wine! Disney has all these awesome more adult-y events at Epcot that I can't go to because of grad school. Finally old enough to enjoy the wine half and yet still so far away!

I saw in your sig that you've been in Disney around Flower and Garden. Which do you think will be your favorite?

haha, while I'm looking forward to the F&WF I honestly don't know how much I'll be at Epcot. I would like to pay more attention to it since the last time we went in Oct. we pretty much ignored it (that was also a short trip).

Which of the festivals do I think will be my favorite? Definitely the Flower and Garden Festival. I don't consider myself a "foodie" (I'm kind of a picky eater...:rolleyes1). I LOVE the Flower and Garden Festival. The park just looks amazing with all the colors!

I'm here, subbing!

I cannot wait to hear about Emma being a CM! Sooo cool!:yay:

Maybe we can have a DISmeet since our dates overlap a little and I will most likely be solo too! I'm there 10/26-30 and planning to do a lot of F & W events. I just booked 4 things this morning and got everything I wanted.

Yay, welcome!

I know, I can't wait either. I'm going to tell her she better text me right away on Monday when she finds out her work location! And I can't wait to hear about Traditions! popcorn::

We should try to meet up!

Can't wait to hear about Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! I have always wanted to go to that! I went to the christmas party 5 years ago which was so much fun! I loved how empty the park was during the party! I also can't wait to hear about the food and wine festival. I have never been there for that but since you can try all these great foods in one place i would love to check it out. I am a avid reader of the Disney Food Blog and they have a lot of cool and useful information about the food and wine festival. If you aren't a Disney Food Blog reader already then i highly reccomend it! I love hearing about the food they have there.

All of the special events are awesome. I think I prefer MVMCP just because I like Christmas a lot more than Halloween but we had a blast at MNSSHP a few years ago. I can't wait to go again. :yay:

Hey Sarah! Sounds like a fun trip. Looking forward to hearing about it.

Hi Meeko. I am very excited about this trip. Is it October yet? haha

Even at 50% off, paying for the room out of pocket would cost more than using DVC points, not to mention that using DVC points requires no new cash outlay.

I do want Sarah's sister to look into that once she gets settled, but I understand that new cast members don't get access to the reservation system for at least a few weeks and that availability is limited.

I still think 50% off at the Polynesian would be tempting...but it'll be interesting to see how the CM reservations work.

:woohoo: at being able to experience MNSSHP and the F&W festival during your trip!! I miss the F&W festival by a few days so look forward to reading reviews in all these October trips that are taking place.

I can't wait for the events!

Sounds like you have been lucky with your trip planning already. I know how much you love SSR, so I'm sure it is nice to know you are going back. Good luck to your sister, two more days till she leaves, how exciting!

Sarah, you will love MNSSHP, make sure to pick a costume that allows you to move freely and enjoy the non existent lines for the rides. The parade and fireworks are so good, and trick or treating is fun too. I am sure that you already know that you can enter the party at 4:00 with your party ticket, so make sure you take advantage of the extra hours. Wait, do you have an annual pass?

It would've been fun to try another new resort but I know I would've been a little "homesick" if the SSR reservation didn't work out. So I'm glad I was able to get it!

When we went to the party in 2006 we had such a good time. One of the best things was seeing all the people dressed up. I need to think of some sort of costume to wear. And yes, I do remember being able to get in early so I was definitely planning on doing that. Even moreso now that I found out that Joe Biden is going to be attending the FL Democratic Convention at the Contemporary that same weekend. :headache: I know he's speaking on the 28th so hopefully it won't mess with traffic too bad on the other days.

Sadly, I did not renew my annual pass after our March trip. :sad2:

So happy you were able to get the studio at SSR! I think you would have loved Pop but now you don't have to pay for the room which is always a positive thing!

You will be there this year at the same time we will be there next year for our Disneymoon...I want to go to MNSSHP on Halloween night and I'm really excited to hear all about your experience there!

Can I just say it again, I'm soooo jealous that your sister is a CM!! lol :goodvibes

I agree, I have never been to a WDW resort I didn't like. But I am glad the SSR studio worked out.

I'll be sure to give a good report then! MNSSHP is so much fun!

I know, I am jealous too. We'll find out tomorrow where she'll be working. popcorn::

Any updates on Sis?? Her work location? How she likes her roommates? I want details!!! lol

Nothing major yet but I'll post an update soon!

Happy Sunday everyone! Can't believe I only have one more week left until school meetings/school starts up. The good thing is that once school starts I'm sure time is going to fly and my trip will be here before I know it. :thumbsup2

As some of you might have seen on my facebook, yesterday my parents and sister left for Disney World. They checked into SSR, got the rental car so they can go to the CP apartments tomorrow and just sort of hung out. Then today my sister got to use her brand-new Universal annual pass to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter again (Dad went too so he finally got to see it!). Here's a couple pictures she sent me today and yesterday:

Tomorrow is the big day when she'll meet her roommates (I know she has one already and I guess they have a couple other girls who they're planning on living with?) and find out her work location. I am going to be anxiously/impatiently waiting to hear from her! :yay:

OK, now back to my trip. Only 67 days now until I get to go, yippee! I've been thinking of a rough plan for each day but really a lot is going to depend on when I'll be able to meet up with my sister. Here's the VERY rough itinerary:

Friday, October 28, 2011
::MickeyMo Flight out of Milwaukee
::MickeyMo Magical Express to Saratoga Springs
::MickeyMo Downtown Disney/boat to Port Orleans? I still want to get over there sometime

*My flight is early enough that I should get there by early/mid-afternoon so
maybe I can go to a park. Who knows.

Saturday, October 29, 2011
::MickeyMo PARK DAY!!! I'll probably go to the Magic Kingdom to see the opening show and do some of my favorites
::MickeyMo Animal Kingdom in the afternoon? The only bad thing about DAK in the fall is that it closes so early. Boo.

Sunday, October 30, 2011
::MickeyMo PARK DAY!!! In sticking to our usual daily plan, I'll most likely go
to Hollywood Studios in the morning
::MickeyMo break at SSR
::MickeyMo Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!!! pirate:princess: I'm planning on getting there early. The time between park closing and the start of the party is a great time to do a lot of attractions. Then when the party starts I can enjoy the shows, etc. Still have to decide if I want to dress up.

Monday, October 31, 2011 (aka Halloween)
::MickeyMo Departure day :sad2:
::MickeyMo Park or DTD in the morning?
::MickeyMo Flight back home to Milwaukee
::MickeyMo Begin countdown for spring break trip

Like I said before, I know this long weekend is going to go way too fast. I know I won't be able to do everything but hopefully I can do a lot being by myself. We'll see. One thing I'm a little worried about is traffic. I found out a couple days ago that the Florida Democratic Convention is that same weekend. It's at the Contemporary. And Joe Biden is going to be there. YIKES! Not like we don't do this anyway, but I'll just have to plan on giving myself plenty of time to get to the parks.

So, that's the rough day-by-day plan for now. Thoughts?

I feel like I would be way more excited to have a yearlong pass to Harry Potter than unlimited access to Disney as a CP member! Probably due to the fact that I wouldn't be working there. ;)

I would probably switch the second DTD day and AK, only for more time at Animal Kingdom (I'm more a fan of Animal Kingdom than shopping, so would definitely put more time there). That depends on your flight time, though.

Looks like you have good plans, but are you skipping out on EPCOT? I'm just bringing this up in case you forgot about him, poor guy ;) Isn't there also the Food and Wine Festival during this time of year at EPCOT?

Good luck to your sister on her first few days in the DCP! :thumbsup2

Are you skipping Epcot/Food & Wine entirely?

Oh no, I'll still be going to Epcot. Just don't know when. That's all just a rough plan. Another option would be to go there the night I get there since it's open a little later and assuming my flight is on time.

haha, I have a feeling she's going to be using that pass a lot. She is already thinking about going back on Tuesday with one of her roommates since they won't have their Disney passes yet and I guess they don't have any orientation stuff.

I also love the Animal Kingdom which is why I can't skip it. I'm sure my plans will change at some point.

No, there's no way I can go to WDW and NOT go to all the parks! I will definitely be going to Epcot at some point. I do want to see what the F&WF is like.

Based on your plan, it looks like it's going to be a fun but busy trip. I like the idea of taking the boat over to Port Orleans. If you don't do it on the first night, you could always do it after AK since it closes early. Taking that boat ride there at night is one of the most relaxing things I can think of to do in Disney.

Love the Hogwarts pic! :thumbsup2

Great plans and am glad to hear you will be visiting Epcot at some point during your visit :)

So exciting to hear your sister is getting settled in. So jealous they went to Harry Potter! I like your day-by-day plans. Is it just me, or are you not going to Epcot at all? I'm sure you'll get it all done being mostly by yourself. You won't need to wait around for anyone.

Your plans sound great! :thumbsup2 I'm glad you're going to find time for Epcot, the F&W festival is SO much fun! :woohoo:

Sounds like a good plan! I'm sorry..I thought she checked in last week! I hope she had a good day today, things can be crazy at check-in!

That is very true. I would really like to see what Port Orleans is like in person. And I agree, the boats are very relaxing.

Yup, I'll definitely be going to all of the parks. It's going to be a whirlwind couple of days but hey, it'll be fun!

I'm jealous too. I really want to go back to WWOHP. No, I'm going to go to Epcot at some point. Like I said that was just a really rough plan.

Yep, I sort of feel like I have to go to Epcot, plus I have to go on Soarin. ;)

Sounds like a good plan! I'm sorry..I thought she checked in last week! I hope she had a good day today, things can be crazy at check-in!

No, don't be sorry. I haven't heard from her since she got back from casting this morning so I'm assuming she's been busy!

I'm here and caught up! I'm so excited that you can squeeze in this long weekend!!! And to catch a MNSSHP on top of it! :yay: I think your plans look great - you'll be amazed at how much you can cover when you tour solo-you really can get a LOT done when you are only concerned about yourself!

Your plans sound great! We're bound to run into each other, cause we have very similar plans and we're there on the same days! I didn't know about the convention. Yikes! I hope traffic isn't too bad.

I hope your sister is settling in well! Let us know when she finds out where she will be working! How exciting. I am so jealous about the WWOHP. I want to go there SO bad!

Hi Brook! I am very happy everything worked out and I can go down to visit my sister. MNSSHP is going to be a plus! So excited for that. I'm sure I'll be able to do a lot considering how much we did when it was just me and Dad (and me and Claire this past March!).

your plans sound great! can't wait to hear about the halloween party as well!

I'll be sure to do a full report on the Halloween party. I have already told myself I need to take more pictures because I hardly have any from the last one I went to!

Yeah, and staying at the same resort too. :) I can't remember, are you going to make a request for a certain area at SSR? We always request Congress Park since it's close to DTD.

I'll post a quick update about my sister soon! popcorn::

OK everyone, I've got a really quick sister update!

Yesterday was her check-in day and from the little we heard it sounds like everything went well. She met up with her roommates who she had met through the Fall 2011 facebook group and they were able to get the apartment they wanted. Since she got there pretty early, she was able to go to casting early to find out her work location. Then around 10:00 or so I finally got a text from her. :yay: She will be working at...

hollywood.jpg

Yep, Hollywood Studios!

I am a little hesitant to post her exact work location (sorry :guilty: if you really want to know send me a PM) but I will say she is pretty happy with it. I know she said in her phone interview they asked her what her favorite park was and she also put in a request for there. I know they can't guarantee requests so it's pretty cool they honored that. :thumbsup2 We haven't heard anything else from her so it sounds like she's busy!
