As the title says, I've done Disney solo before. The very first time I went to Disney I did a day trip (August 2014) and drove over from Sarasota! I had to pull over once I reached WDW property since I started crying, it was that moving. Since then I've been to the park 6 times, I absolutely love it.
Anyway! Two weeks ago I canceled my Vegas trip (and subsequent Disneyland trip) to visit my friends in Florida. I also got a one day pass and a MVMCP pass! Getting to the park was a breeze. I arrived around 11, signed up for the DISability thing (I have rods in my spine and I have trouble walking/standing), and let me tell you. The cast member at city hall was fantastic and explained everything. So for my first DISability fast pass (since it essentially acts as a fourth fast pass) I decided to meet Anna and Elsa. I had been trying my past few trips to see them, and now I finally could!
I had made my fast passes back to back, which worked out well for me. Right after I got out of A&E I went right in for Rapunzel and Cinderella!
Since I now had time between this and Space Mountain, I went to take pictures of everyone's favorite castle. No matter how many times I visit I never get tired of seeing the castle. I get teary eyed just thinking about it.
I also want to take this moment to gush about the lunch I had. I went to Sleepy Hollow and got a Nutella and fruit waffle. It was amazing. It was simple, but it filled me up and it did not break the bank! Next time I plan to try the sweet and spicy chicken waffle they have. It looked super good!
Since I went on a Tuesday, it didn't seem very crowded. I guess I picked the right time to go. In fact I've never been to WDW where it's seemed particularly busy. Disneyland on the other hand was crowded the two days I went in August, and with the heat it was actually kind of terrible.
Once in Tomorrowland I got in the FP line for Space Mountain. This was my favorite ride at Disneyland, but I like this version better since it's a solo car. I don't think DL is a solo. This was fantastic. However it did give me a headache, but that's kind of the point of SM I guess! Also props to Disney for having massage chairs outside the ride exit.
I wandered over to Storybook Circus to try and find Donald, but to my dismay he was on break. Not a huge deal, I still got some fantastic shots of the area!
Unfortunately one of the Dumbo spinners forgot how to fly, and I didn't feel like getting in line for the other one. Maybe next time!
The rest of the day I just meandered and took pictures. It was nice not having anyone else with me. You really get a feel for the park at your own pace, which is great. Because of my solo trips I've figured out how to navigate MK with ease. Eventually I'll do the same with the other parks!
I went on Jingle Cruise during the party, and loved it. I had never been on this ride before, but I will always go back to it now!
Oh hey a parade!
Finally the Christmas party started, and the first thing I did was meet Sandy Claws. It was an accomplishment, and he was by far the best character I've ever interacted with.
I did get some free hot chocolate and cookies, and they pretty much filled me up the whole night. I'm surprised at how little I spent on food during this trip. I'm a big fan of most of the DW food, and I don't think I'm the only one!
Eventually I made my way back to the caste for the nighttime shows. The DISability seating area was right in front of the castle, and every CM I encountered getting there was extremely friendly and helpful. This was my first time using it, and it was fantastic. A+ to WDW for that.
This was a fantastic solo trip, and I can't wait to be back in March! I'll be there March 13-16 to celebrate my 30th birthday. If you're in WDW those days, maybe I'll bump into you!
