My scale played a dirty trick on me today!

I got on the scale this AM because I wanted to see if the loss I recorded yesterday that put me over the mark to get my 5 lb clippie was real. The scale said I was 20 LBS LIGHTER than I was yesterday! :earseek:

So much for the accuracy of bathroom scales! I just stood there on it for a minute or so to see how that # would look, then with a deep sigh I stepped off that confounded scale, reset it & stepped back on. This time it gave me the same reading as I got yesterday. Maybe that look at a much smaller # was supposed to inspire me to get there. At least that's how I'm taking it. It did motivate me to go walking this afternoon - DH & I did 2.5 mi. today & I felt really good when we finished, not totally exhausted like I would have felt even as close as a month ago. I'm going to stick with my weight loss plan & make those lower #'s real!

I also stayed strong even though we had a bake sale at work today - I didn't buy anything! I was really proud of myself for that one! Bake sales are soooo tempting, especially when they're for a good cause. This one was to benefit Relay for Life for breast cancer. I can find other ways to contribute to that since eating all those tempting goodies is not something I can do.

Nancy I am so proud of you. You took something that could have brought you down and made it a positive thing. Look at how far you have come in your walking. Good for you. Great work resisting the bake sale temptation...you will make it :)

Say it with me, Nancy, "sneak weighing is never a good idea" ;)

It was a sign that you are on your weigh to success. A slightly mean sign but a sign, nevertheless.

I'm so proud of you for not giving in to the temptation of that bake sale. You are really determined!

A boyscout came to my door the other day and wanted to sell me popcorn. I told him we couldn't buy any but offered him a donation instead. He turned me down. I don't think he knew what to do when I did that. Too bad he didn't have an adult with him, I'll bet there was a way for him to accept it.

Good for you, Nancy! Isn't it a great feeling to be in control?

I have dreams like that! Good for yuo for staying away from the bake sale! That took real will power! YOU DID GOOD! :p

Thanks for the pats on the back Glo, Katholyn, & karebear. It is you guys that help keep me going.
I'm still doing my exercises in my LR facing the picture from HoopDeeDoo at DIS-CON. With Glo next to me in that picture & Katholyn right behind me there's no way I can slack off on my exercises. :teeth:

Hey, that happened to me once! I stepped on the scale in September and when I stepped on it again in March, it said I gained 20 POUNDS!!!

I guess that's not the same thing huh?? ;)

Great Job at the bake sale and with the walks! :)

WOW! The scale gremlins visited your house (but weighing lower is always fun anyway!) ;)

GOOD FOR YOU for passing up the bake sale items! That is the best way to get to your next new clippie!!!! Keep up the great work!

Glad you didn't put a hurting on the scale! ;) heh heh!

Good for you for walking and passing up the bake sale, Nancy! That is great!!

I hate the scale in my house! Depending on where in the bathroom it is (the floor is not really level) you can have a weight difference of 10-20 pounds. I am staying off my scale at home and only doing the one at WW.
