Ok so I have my hotel rooms booked, but I keep reading all these TR's and you folks knew where you were before you even got there. I definitely was never told where my rooms were. I will be there Feb 14-20th. Is this a "non picking rooms time?"

Also, if I were to call back and ask for a room switch, which rooms would I want??

:cheer2: I'm almost at the three month mark! SO EXCITED!

As far as I know, you can request the building and the floor, possibly even the view. They cannot garauntee anything. I booked Hojos for this Dec and requested building 2 and I know we will have a garden pool view. When I called to confirm the ressie (and cancel a different one) I asked the lady (Jennifer) about elevators and we got to talking about floors. I said I didn't have a need to request a particular floos since I don't expect any noise from the pool due to the time of year.

When I booked, I requested a premium room facing Disney. These are all in a specific building. I also emailed Lorealle and requseted a room on the 7th floor and she noted it, but said I would need to ask again once I was there to check in.

We have our vacation through Alaska Airlines.

It specifies "Run of House".

Can we still request a specific room type/area?

I always call to re-confirm our reservations a week before we travel.

What area would you recommend??

There are premium, deluxe and standard rooms. The premium rooms are in bldg. 1 and are listed as having a DIsneyland view. The deluxe rooms are in bldg. 2 and are listed as having a view of the garden pool. The standard rooms are in bldgs. 3, 4,, 5 and 6. I've never booked using a package, so I'm not sure which room you receive from a package, but I'm assuming it's a standard room??? The number and types of beds also vary with the different rooms...i.e. a King bed vs. 2 double beds, etc. I'd call Hojo's "In-house" reservations and ask which room type you are receiving with your package, or does it list the room type on the info. that you have, i.e. a "standard room"? Maybe someone else who has booked through Alaska Airlines might be able to answer this for you. :)

I booked separately, way last April, and requested NQQ1, 7th floor with as little "tree branch view blockage" as possible.

I called last week, about 4 days before we left, to confirm. Jennifer (so kind and helpful) checked it out for me and was clicking her tongue worriedly, because she said usually they "block out" (i.e. assign the rooms according to availability, requests, how many nights, etc-- kinda like playing Tetris) the rooms a week or two in advance, but they'd blocked out mine in September, and I hadn't gotten 7th floor, although I had one of the earliest requests in. She didn't like that, so she fooled around with it till she could rearrange and get me what I wanted. It was perfect! We had room 1713. There are trees in front of all the windows on that side, but that particular room had the branches mostly to the side, and a straight, unobstructed view of the Matterhorn.

The freeway noise is very noticeable on the balcony, but with the door shut, the room is very quiet. We did bring a white noise machine, which helped us sleep soundly through the early-morning rush hour, which sounded like a far-off rumble. It also helped muffle the sounds in the hallway, where, like any hotel, you get the occasional guest who lets their door slam shut late at night. ("Ka-CHUNK!")

I would call in-house reservations and put in your room requests ASAP.

Just wondering....If the OP's package covers only a standard room would she be able to upgrade to a premium room like you had? BTW, I'm glad that you and your DS had a great time last week. My DS, also 13, and I loved reading your updates and we were SO glad that things went well this time. We will be doing a mom/son trip in 6 and 1/2 weeks and staying at the Hojo also :) Did you get to use the coupon at Mimi's? If so, how was it? :) We can't wait to get some of those wonderful muffins and corn chowder (My DS's favorite!).:yay:

I also booked thru a TA. "Run of House" no guarantees to the room. I called in June and guaranteed a NQQ1 room and specifically requested a 7th floor (Skylight) Disney room. The cost to guarantee was 15.00 per day. For the added price of our holiday i thought it was worth the cost.

Thank you! That is good to know.:)

All I have to do is ask and you all come to my rescue! :cool1:

My next question is this: If I were to request a room what building should I request?

I've heard that the freeway can be noisy if you're in Bld 1, especially on the freeway side. That's why I requested Bld 2. I think the other Blds are the smaller ones surrounding a court yard? When I was doing my research a lot of Disers seemed to prefer Bld 2.

WOW! I just noticed that our tickers for our trips in Dec. are totally identical! (1 month, 1 week, 6 days). Are you staying at HOJO's bldg. 2 for that trip? If so, we will be there the same time as you and also in bldg. 2 ! Maybe we'll run into each other. I'll have my LGMH on my backpack. :)

Eh... We will just wing it!

I am sure any room will be acceptable. I will call to make sure we get a non-smoking room, as none of us appreciate cigarette smoke.

Anything other than that is fair game!

:)

I agree. I was just happy to get the Entertainment rate for our trip.

I believe that Lorealle had mentioned that we were in NQQ2 w/ garden pool view. This was not a request from me, just what we got. If it happens, it happens. If not, not. I just look forward to getting there.

All the rooms are non-smoking now, so you should be all set.

I'm going to have to call them I guess, I was never informed to which building I would be in and now I'm DYING with curiosity!

Don't forget that curiosity killed the cat :lmao:

Just joking! I hope that you get a great room that will meet all of your needs!

I know, I know but I just want to know so badly! Especially if I'm by a freeway, I have a hard enough time sleeping as it is!

So?? Did you find out where your rooms are? The suspense is killing me:laughing:
