My rewards card is about to expire.........

I just used all my rewards money for this last trip. There is a zero balance at this point. The card itself says it expires 12/04. I don't want to put anymore money on that card because it expires soon. Why do the cards even have an expiration date? Do I need to call and order a new card? Even though my reward money doesn't expire for years, the card expires in December. That seems rather dumb. Thanks.

Our card is the same! I used all the points on it this past trip and will order a new card before our next trip. I think since the cards have an expiration date, it's wise to make sure you don't transfer more points than you will use.

I imagine they are trying to avoid people constantly transferring points over to their card. Since your card has a zero balance on it, all you have to do is order a new card when you are ready to use it. Sounds easy to me.
