OK so I've been able to reevaluate my gameplan using the wonderful advice given to me by fellow Disney fans:

DL Friday morning - rope drop, enter park, use MaxPass for Space Mtn, then go to Fantasyland and ride Alice, Mr Toad, Pinocchio, and the Tea Cups (unless Peter Pan is THAT much different from the WDW version we may skip it). Then do Matterhorn and use Space Mtn MP. Get next MP for Big Thunder Mtn, then hit Pirates and Haunted Mansion. After riding Big Thunder, ride Indy using single rider then get some lunch somewhere (Plaza Inn for fried chicken hopefully!). Do Small World, Buzz Lightyear, Pooh etc., Nemo Subs at leisure.

Hit DCA after lunch and ride stand-by for Grizzly River, Pixar Wheel, Monsters Inc, Little Mermaid, and do single rider for Incredicoaster. (DCA note - does the DCA version of Soarin' also have that problem of the screen curving on the sides, making the Eiffel Tower look like a limp noodle?)

Then the best part - go back to DL and wing it for the rest of the day. Re-ride our favorites, use MaxPass as much as possible, and eat like there’s no tomorrow. However, get back to RSR about 30 minutes before closing and make that our last ride of the day.

Sounds like a good plan to me. Are you going to ride GOTG? It is so much fun!!

Love your avatar btw. I LOVED Maelstrom!

Yes :guilty: It's not too bad if you are right in the middle. I want Soarin' over California back...

I think you will find MP useful for a bunch of the rides on your list. Several of them may well have "immediate" MP available, in which case just grab it (since FP return lines are shorter/faster) and then as soon as you've scanned into that ride book one of the ones with a longer lead time.

Your planning too much to do at Disneyland to be heading to DCA after Lunch.
I would guess you probably won't be at DCA until 2-3pm

Thoughts
- Finding Nemo Submarines queue is horrible by 10am and doesn't let up until after the fireworks.
- Pirates will be popular with the changes and if the rumor is correct, it will be offering FP. Another one you want to do before 10 am.
- Pixar Wheel will also have a horrible line since you won't be there in the morning so ride it in between waiting to use FP.
- Single Rider for California Screamin wasn't the best. Kinda slow and crowded, it should be worse for Incredicoaster. Better to get FP.
- You can ask the Soarin Cast Member for front row middle. You may have to wait for one cycle but its worth it.
- The RSR wait near closing will probably be 45-60 minutes maybe longer depending on how crowded the park is.
- Grizzly FP is usually available all day but the single rider is pretty good unless it is hot.
- Plaza Inn can have quite the line if you show up after 12pm.

ME

I’d avoid finding Nemo.

Id also avoid the Pixar wheel. And if you’ve been on soaring avoid that as well.

Now Space Mountain also has single rider line, which is usually a walk on.

I will probably do GOTG myself since I’m the only one in the family that doesn’t mind getting dropped several stories at once.

Long live Maelstrom!!!

Use your family's MP to get more than one FP for GOTG so that you'll be able to ride more than once if you like it. (If, on some off chance, you hate it, simply return the FPs.) Hopefully you'll get different songs on all your rides so you can get more of a full GOTG experience.

Nemo is a ride we will do last thing at night right before closing time if we don't do PP. The line is slow moving so it will eat up a lot of your valuable morning rides time if the line is very long at all.

I think I said this on your other thread, but you're severely underestimating the abilities of Maxpass. Having done a few "commando-style" days with guests lately, you will accomplish more by really understanding Maxpass, "following the FPs" as available, and fitting things in around them.

Your morning looks reasonable (assuming crowds aren't crazy) until this: "Do Small World, Buzz Lightyear, Pooh etc., Nemo Subs at leisure." Those are all over the park, and IASM and Nemo are loooooong rides. Mid-day, that sentence is easily a two-hour time investment. I'd really skip Nemo altogether with what you're trying to accomplish...

I'd also encourage you to book a RSR FP by mid-to-late morning (likely for a late afternoon return time), and then re-ride if you like at the end of the day... I've personally tried to ride twice at the end of the night and been unable to (once it was shut down, once they'd closed the queue), and recently we were on it 30 minutes before closing and it shut down halfway through and we had to get walked off. It's a great ride, and it would be a shame to delay it and then miss out entirely.

Good point. I was trying to avoid getting a FP within a later return time so we could get other FP’s but this may be a better option.

I did not know there were different experience.
My kids are enthusiastic GOTG fans. Moreso even than Star Wars. This will blow their minds.

There are 6 different songs and the intensity of the ride varies with each song:
  • "Hit Me with Your Best Shot" by Pat Benatar.
  • "Give Up The Funk" by Parliament.
  • "Born to Be Wild" by Steppenwolf.
  • "I Want You Back" by The Jackson 5.
  • "Burning Love" by Elvis Presley.
  • "Free Ride" by The Edgar Winter Group.
This is one reason why guests try to ride multiple times in a day -- they want to see how many different songs/ride variations they can get. :)

Mind blown.
Kids just found themselves a challenge. Woo hoo.

Since you can get another FP 90 minutes later, it's not a problem. You just want to make sure you've knocked out a good amount of FP rides in the morning, especially ones that run out... like, at DCA, right now, they usually run out in roughly this order: RSR, TSMM/GOTG (TSMM is closed part of the day for construction right now, so they're running out weirdly early), Soarin', Goofy's Sky School/Grizzly - not sure where Incredicoaster will fit in there, but it will probably run out quickly when it's brand-new and then calm down (which is what GOTG did). Over at DL, Space Mountain and Indiana Jones run out before most of the others... so, in the morning, you go for the ones that run out early, then grab RSR and wait your 90 minutes, and then start in on the ones that don't run out as quickly. You always want to grab an "immediate" one and use it quickly if possible, then grab one with more of a wait. (So, maybe it's 4:00 and you see a 4:15 Goofy's Sky School - grab it, scan in at 4:10, and now you can grab another FP - meaning you've snagged 2 FPs in 10 minutes.)

In the days leading up to your trip, you can check the app periodically to see the FP return times for everything to get a sense of what "runs out" and when (which changes based on crowds, obviously). I've been at DCA when all FPs for everything have run out by 5:00, and I've been there when there are still some for Goofy's or Grizzly at the end of the day.
