My review of lunch at Mama Melrose--updated added pictures

We went to MGM twice and ate at Mama Melrose one day for lunch...it wasn't that great TBH. It was overpriced and the chicken parm I had was very tough and did not have much flavor. It was a frozen patty that I am sure was just tossed into the oven to reheat. I even commented to dh that its not *that* hard to have fresh chicken and bread it. I was disappointed, as it was $16.49 for this entree for LUNCH! I even asked for extra mozzarella on it because I like my chicken parm with tons of cheese and to me there wasn't much cheese on it, certainly *not* extra cheese.

The cheese sauce over the penne pasta my children ordered tasted like fake cheese and I even commented to my dh that it tasted like plastic. My kids didn't touch the pasta. The vegetarian minestrone soup w/ ditalini that they serve as part of the kids meal was good. My dd didn't want it so I ate it. The dressing they put on the kid salad made my son's mouth burn (too much pepper in it maybe?). The mixed greens salad I had w/ Gorgonzola tasted pretty good but the lettuce was wilted, I like my greens crunchy. The Gorgonzola was good though. My husband had the Tuscan Chicken Bruschetta sandwich and he said it was "alright" which meant it wasn't too special.

The service was good, and the place was a fine place to eat in terms of atmosphere, but our food was not that great.

ETA: I also wanted to point out that my kids did not get a dessert with their meal, despite us ordering a drink, an appetizer and an entree for them. The menu says that a dessert is included for $7.49 but they didn't' get one, and none was offered. We were in a rush to leave to get to a show so I didn't even remember to ask about it.

I posted in a diferent thread about MM, but we were also very disappointed. My dh said Olive Garden is better than MM, and he doesn't even like Olive Garden! We thought the menu was very limited, my kids also did not like the pasta, and we thought it had no atmosphere at all. Never again.
