The level of service for concierge is impecable. We were greeted at the door and taken right to our room, bypassing lines at registration. They handled all our dining reservations and other requests. Very impressed with the staff here.
Here is the big disappointment. The food offerings were basic. Breakfast is pastries, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, juice and coffee. The exact same stuff we could get at any continental breakfast at any hotel.
They keep the liquor under lock and key! They do have beer and wine available in the evenings but you have to ask a cast member for it. First night, we ordered wine and got a glass with about 2 ounces. It made us feel uncomfortable to go back and ask for more. (We really wanted to pour a glass of wine, soak in the tub and sip it. We're obviously not goint to get out of the tub, down to the lounge, find a cast member and ask for more.) Then, later that night we asked for Bailey's and we got a glass filled with ice and maybe an ounce of Baileys. Now, we are not major boozehounds but for what we paid, we should have access to the alcohol. Disneyworld has Disneyland beat on this one. The Grand Floridian just puts it out for you to pour at will.
Long story short - if you're looking for superior service than book concierge. If you want the food and alcohol options - it's definetly not worth it.
