Ok, here is the first of my reviews. Dbf and I were on the gold plan so we tried alot of more expensive restaraunts. I can honestly say we didn't have one bad meal....not even one mediocre meal. My reviews will be based on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being outstanding.

Day 1

Our first meal was 50's primetime cafe. We had a ps and were seated within 5 min of checking in. The atmosphere here is very cute. I honestly think we had a bunch of this stuff in our house while I was growing up.
Our waitress cousin Jaime was really nice. She didn't pick on us very much though...which was ok...I needed time to adjust. In general I think they pay more attention to the groups with kids.
I ordered the onion rings for an appetizer and dbf had a salad. The onion rings were really good but I have a preference for the thicker ones.....but you do get a ton of them. The salad was just an ordinary salad. For our entree I had the fried chicken which came with mashed potatoes and string beans. The chicken was the best I ever had ...loved the mashed potatoes and the string beans were cooked just the way I like them.....not too soggy.
I had 3 large pieces of chicken which was way too much for me even though I tried...but I knew Rockin rollercoaster was on the agenda after this so I decided it was in everyone's best interest if I didn't stuff myself. DBF got the pot pie ...which was also yummy. I forget what came with it. He couldn't finish his either....which says alot about the quantity of food they give you.
For dessert I had the smores...also huge. They were really good...but way to sickening after awhile. I would sugest sharing this dessert with someone. There has to be about 12 or 16 marshmallows on this monster. DBF went with a hot fudge sundae. It was also good. If we weren't on the plan ..the bill for this meal would have been around $60.
rating- 4

Dinner
Coral Reef
I know this restaraunt gets some bad reviews but we loved it. We had planned on Brown Derby....but DBF was not feeling well so we left MGM and went back to the room to rest for awhile. We decided to head over to Epcot later...maybe catch illuminations...so we figured we'd try coral reef before illuminations. We were seated within 5 min of our arrival. We made a ps before we left ..but were late because of mis-judging disney transportation.
This is a beautiful restaraunt....we were seated on the top tier...but it seems every seat has a great view of the aquarium.
Our server was prompt and professional. I ordered the crab cake for an appetizer and dbf had the shrimp cocktail. Both were very good. I then had the lobster bisque....I cannnot say enough about this. I was unbelievable !!!!! Ddf had a salad...as usual.
I can't remember what I ordered for an entree. I know it was seafood and a filet of some type...but I know it was good. Dbf had the mussels, cockles, and clams. It was 2 types of clams and mussels in a broth with some kind of rice with ham and cheese. I know the 2 don't sound that great together....but they actually complemented each other very well. For dessert I had tiramisu....which was really good but I was so full I could only get down a few bites. I also had one alcoholic beverage....an octupus juice....it was kinda like a raspberry pina colada....good but sweet.
DBF had a margarita...which was kinda his drink for the rest of the trip.
DBF had a Davy Jones coffee. I can't remember what was in it...but it sure warmed you up.
The dinner would have cost around $150.00 with alcoholic beverages.
rating- 4.5 ....would've have been a 5 if they would've had more seafood choices on the menu

Stay tuned for day 2

Thanks so much for the post dansyr, I have been wondering about both these restaurants. I like my onion rings skinny and "lacy" so it sounds like the 50s PT ones will be good! My SIL is going at the end of the month (her family's first trip) and has PS's at the Coral reef. I know she loves lobster bisque, so I will pass along your recommendation. I am planning to do the PT cafe at the end of the day, so I won't leave any "souvenirs" on RnR!!! Thanks again!

Thanks for the reviews! I have read a few negative/mixed reviews of Coral Reef, as well, but your meal sounds delicious. I may have to add this restaurant to my ever growing list of restaurants I want to try! :)

We have to eat at 50's every trip so my oldest DD can get the fried chicken.

Thanks for the great reviews. We have thought about eating at Coral Reef but have not tried it yet. After reading your review we are going to have to try it.
