I was very excited to be able to rent points from a DVC member for a studio at the Boardwalk Villas. It was a great value for me, a smooth transaction (Thanks Jennifer D!) and I couldn't wait to get there.
We checked in on January 5th, after spending 2 nights at the Royal Pacific (during which my claustrophobic husband was very sick, due to the lack of lighting, room layout and inability to open the windows).
At check in the CM told us we were upgraded, and asked us what we had originally booked. I replied that we were suppposed to be in a preferred studio. She put us in a one bedroom for our five night stay!! I cannot tell you how nice that was after spending the former two nights with my husband pacing and being sick. We had a washer and dryer right in the room, and two tv's, which was nice for us after we put the kids to bed.
The best part was that I rented points just so dh could get a taste for dvc accommodations--then came the upgrade, and after FIVE years of trying to talk my dh into becoming a dvc member, he agreed!!!! Finally!!!!!!!!!!! As of next month we will be members, and can go back to where the magic truly happens.
Talk about pixie dust. . .
