Let me preface by saying that the stay did not start out on a positive note. I had two consecutive reservations - a one night stay with my sister, niece, nephew and son and then a three night reservation with my just my husband and two sons.

When my son and I arrived at the YC, I approached the checkin desk and said that I was checking in and staying club. He said that I can just check you in here. I asked him if he could let them know upstairs that we were checking in. He made a call and asked me to wait in the lobby. There was another family being taken upstairs so we sat in the kiddie chairs and waited for the CM escorting them upstairs to come back for us.

I checked in while the CM took my son to the lounge for some snacks. We walked to the room and found that we were assigned to a room with only two queen beds and no day bed. I was not happy and asked the CMs on the club floor if we could be moved since we had five people on the ressie and only 2 beds. She called but found that they could not move us but said that they would bring a roll away. I asked if we could move tomorrow to a new room since we start another reservation for the next three nights. Again, she called but the answer was I'm sorry. You cannot stay in that room AND the room that we are moving you to only has two beds as well. I asked her to help me understand that if they are booked for rooms with 2 queens and a daybed, why couldn't I just stay in the room that I'm in?! I wanted to unpack and get settled. She said that she was sorry but we just couldn't. "Someone else will be in your room tomorrow." She did say that she couldn't tell me specifics but just that my new room is slightly bigger than the one that I was currently in. I was furious. For over $400 a night, we were stuck with a roll away and having to move. Some club level Disney service this was!! But I decided that I was NOT going to be upset as this was a treat for us to stay club and was just resigned to enjoy myself. I kept thinking about what the CM said that my new room would be slightly larger and couldn't help but secretly hope that we were being given a lagoon view room or even a junior suite!!

We did have to call as the roll away was not delivered automatically. We enjoyed the lounge for cupcakes and in the morning for breakfast. We had bell services come and get our bags. The bellman asked where we were heading and I said nowhere. We were not allowed to stay in the room and were being moved to a different room. He got a really surprised look and I said it's ok. I'm over it now. He took the luggage and we got ready to head out to MK extra magic morning. He came back a few minutes later and said that he had made a call because he didn't like that they were making me move and said that "Your new room is....a little bigger." I said "Are they taking care of us?" and he said Yes. So now my hopes are even higher that I'm getting a little upgrade.

My husband arrived the next afternoon. Magical Express stopped at CBR, Boardwalk, Beach Club and then Yacht Club. They were the only two on the bus. We were waiting for him to arrive before we checked in as I wanted him to experience the whole Club Level VIP treatment.

My son and I waited outside for his bus to arrive and noticed that there were four 'suits' standing in a line seemingly waiting for something. I thought maybe someone important/celebrity was coming so I though GREAT! We might see someone special. I don't know for sure that they were waiting for my husband but as soon as he stepped off the bus with my other son, they disappeared. LOL. I thought OK. Weird.

The clipboard CM met my hubby and then they walked together to us and we went upstairs to check in. My sons disappeared into the lounge and after they printed the keys, they said that we would be on the third floor but that our keys would work on the elevator to come up to the lounge. They invited us to take whatever we wanted back to the room so that we didn't have to come back up for drinks. We grabbed sodas and the boys and went downstairs. I knew this was good! I whispered to the boys that I think that we were upgraded to a SUITE! We speed walked to our room and this is what we found.

We all turned and looked at each other with our mouths open!

And then this -

And then we totally.freaked.out! This is our room?! Are you kidding?! Then we turned left and saw dirty dishes piled up on the bar.

And found our way to the bedroom and saw an unmade king bed. We backed out and thought that they had made a mistake. This room was obviously already being used by someone else. We went from being sooo happy for 30 seconds to thinking that it was all a mistake. Then we heard voices coming from the living room.

It was maid services. They were in a different room. On the other end of the living room. It's ANOTHER bedroom and they are cleaning it. We startled her. We apologized and said that we think there's been a mistake. She said that the previous guests were late in leaving. They sent us to a suite that was still being cleaned!

She was joined by another staff member and they cleaned while we we stood there stunned and awkward and not knowing what to do. Since I am a WDW addict, the only thing that I could think to do at the time was find out how much this place costs!!! I was so flabbergasted that I could not remember how to find rack rates on the mousesavers website. I'm a p/t disney planning consultant and I know very well how to do this but in my shock, I just kept hitting all the wrong things on my iphone.

We debated what to do. Should we go back up and tell them that the room isn't ready? Back on the elevator. We went back up and asked if they were sure that this was OUR room and they said YES! They knew yesterday that we were getting a Two Bedroom Club suite but they could not tell me a thing. We explained that the room was being made up and didn't know what to do. The lounge was closed at the moment for the transition to the evening service but the CM insisted that we come in and sit and relax. We did that and when the doors closed behind us, we did a little happy dance.:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana: We sat for a bit but they were busy preparing everything so we decided to do a walking tour of the BC/YC since hubby had never stayed there. We wandered around the lobbies and looked at the pool and really just floated around feeling like the luckiest people on Earth.

Oh me too, I can't wait for more! :) Sounds wonderful!!!!!! We were just there too but at the BC CL -standard view.

At 5 o'clock, we went up to the lounge AGAIN and enjoyed the evening appetizers then stopped by our room now that it was clean and we were sure that it was really ours!

The boys room - I wanted this one because it had a bigger bathroom and I liked the view from this balcony better but they wanted it so I let them.

WOW! Were you staying at YC between 6/22/12 - 7/1/12? The reason I'm asking is b/c we were staying there between that time and on the third floor. Me and my two kiddos had just gotten off the elevator and past a room where two gentlemen were knocking on a door (looked like they were from the front desk). I only heard a small part of the conversation, but it sounded like the room was too small for their party. They proceeded to show them to another room, which was also on the way to our room. As we were walking in our room I heard one of the CM's say that some of the rooms come with a daybed that a child could sleep on, but still wouldn't be OK for them. Their child must have been older. He pointed to my children as we were walking in our room and said they could fit on it.
Didn't know if this could have been you, but thought it was funny what a small world it is, if it was!! :goodvibes

Nope. We were there from 6/6-6/10.

My hubby on our balcony. What you can't see is that the suite goes from this point down the ENTIRE length of that building, all the way around to SAB.

Continuing thru the suite. This is the halfway point. Judging from the balconies across the courtyard, halfway point is about 4 standard rooms.

The bedroom that hubby and I were in was just a lagoon view king room that probably could be locked off from the living room and used by itself.

In total, there were 4 refrigerators. 2 DVD players and a blue ray player. 3 TVs. 2 balconies - one with a spot on view of Illuminations (which we enjoyed!), 2 desks, 2 king beds and a daybed.

Unbelievable. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience that went far too quickly. There's something about staying club level that makes the urgency to leave the resort to get to a park completely go away and you never really want to leave.

For those of you that are wondering, it was a two bedroom regatta club suite that would have rented for our dates at around $1600 a night.

The funniest thing is that when we called bell services to have the luggage delivered, the very same bellman that had taken my luggage that morning was the one delivering it. He walked in and I was like "HI!" He explained that he found out what room we were getting when he had made that phone call but wasn't allowed to tell me. I was happy that he ended up still on duty!

WOW! Sounds like you really made out great! I hoped you tipped them well.:thumbsup2

That's why I love the CM's at these resorts, they are exceptional. We received an upgrade today and 2 years ago when we went. I bought the CM a Coach change purse, from the Orlando Outlets, she loved it. But she totally deserved it.

Hope you had a magical time, personally I would not have left the suite! :goodvibes

Wow, that is a wonderful upgrade. We had a similar experience two years ago. I booked a garden view at the Poly. There was a small problem with the room and I called and asked if they had another room. The same category, of course.

The gentlemen said, would a theme park view in the Hawaii bldg. (conceirge) be ok? I asked him if he was sure as I was in a garden view and he said yes. I couldn't believe it. We had a great time and I still think about how wonderful that room and view was. Congrats on the upgrade:)

How magical!!!! So glad you enjoyed it. On a side note, good for you for shaking off the original disappointment and rolling with the punches... Looks like you were handsomely rewarded for your flexibility!!

Congrats for that wonderful upgrade!! They definitely brought magic into your trip!:wizard:
