My Proposal & Ring!

Morning Disbrides! As some of you know, I've been anxiously waiting for my proposal! We've been planning our Margaritaville Wedding and Disneymoon for two months already...but no proposal!

Me & DF decided from the start...we refuse to put start our new lives together in debt, so have been trying to pay cash for everything. Including the engagement ring!

Anyway, I knew my ring finely made it to my future groom (we ordered it from a designer in California), and I just knew he was going to tease me about it forever!

Anyway, Saturday, was a gorgeous fall day, so Gregg had planned for us to go for a ride in the Missouri wine country. We stopped at a couple of wineries and even ran into an Octoberfest, which was fun. Found some yummy wine too! After our day doing the tourist thing, we decided to go to "our place", a steakhouse called "The Point", for dinner.

Finely, after a long beautiful day, and a nice quiet dinner, Gregg got onto one knee and proposed. Beautiful ending to a beautiful day.

Anyway, without any further ado....here is my ring!!!

It's extra special because it represents a little of both of us...I'm from California, and Gregg is from New York. The designer of the ring is in California, and we ended up purchasing the diamond from New York. We thought that was kind of cool.

Thank you both! It was a very relaxed, romantic day...and I can't stop staring at the ring, it's so pretty! I can't wait for our Disneymoon

I never considered myself a "wine person", but it was lots of fun doing the tastings, and bought a few bottles of our favorites.

Thank you guys so much for the compliments and congratulations. I'm not a materialistic person, but the ring means so much to me!! I've been divorced for 11 years, and single-handedly raised my two DS's. DS #1 (18yo) gave me grief for so many years for leaving his abusive father, he just didn't "get it", that it wasn't a way to live. Anyway, I didn't even really date for all that time, because I was so focused just on trying to keep our family together. I pretty much given up hope that I'd ever find someone special to share my life with.

Gregg is so special, and is such a wonderful, gentle person. I've never had anyone that actually focused on me. Not that it's all about me! But he just makes me feel so special and loved. We've talked more over the last 13 months than me & my ex did over a 9 year marriage. He is so special to me. Anyway, the ring just represents hope, love, and promises, and I can't stop wanting to pinch myself that I finely found my happily-ever-after.
