My Problem With Victoria And Alberts Chef Table

Last July I booked the Chef's table at V & A's for both 12/28 and 12/30. The 12/28 reservation was a treat for my son and a friend. On Thursday 12/26 I had a call from V & A reconfirming and asking for names of parties. Last night my son and friend went and imagine their embarassment when they were taken to kitchen only to find other people there. It seems that in July someone named Mary from the Grand Floridian concierge had cancelled my sons reservation and booked her people. I don't understand why I wasn't told this when I was called last Thursday. The people at V & A were apologetic but that's it. They said it is an internal problem. I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion as to who I might complain to re this situation. Thanks for any replies.

Wow, that is awful. I would write a letter to the manager of guest services. Perhaps because they saw two reservations they thought you only needed one.... BUT they should have called to verify this. And in my opinion since they acknowledged that it was an "internal" problem they should have comped you a bottle of wine or a dinner or something.

Hard to understand how someone could call--in July--and cancel YOUR reservation.
I don't believe any concierge desk has that sort of "power".
Most of the problem seems to be at the Grand Floridian, so I'd start with that resort's manager.

When I made reservation I had to give my name, address, phone number and credit card number. I also reconfirmed this reservation. I am starting with the manager of Grand Floridian with copies to anyone I can think of. I will see what happens tonight which is my night at the chefs table.

So what did the they do for your son and friend......just boot them out or try and give them some thing in the main dinning area? You had your confirm number right? How wrong is that to just rebook with out your knowledge.

I am really surprised someone could get away with this. Please keep us posted, I was tempted to try this chef's table as well.

Last night I decided to let my son and his friend take my reservation since they felt so bad about "their night". They raved about the meal. Total cost with tip was close to $400. No more apologies from them and as you can see they did nothing extra for them. As I posted earlier I wrote the manager of Grand Floridian and sent copies to Al Weiss, president of WDW Orlando and sent a copy to Eisner. If I hear from anyone I will post. For my part I will not be going there again ever. We have been to V&A enough that they recognize us and know our names which to me makes it worse.

any new news on this topic? Have you heard back from GF, V&A or anyone at WDW?

I would like to think that they would have at least given you a response to your inquiries.

Thanks
