Yippee, after lots of knock backs because of me being an intimate I am booked at the GF for an outside dinner, by the waters edge to watch the fireworks. Just what I wanted at the Yacht club but they ummed and ahhed and I still havent got a price from them after 3 weeks! They also told me , no dress! Yes ok, you can keep your yacht club then....I am now at the GF, and a fantastic lady said I could have private dining there. Just as good.
Does anyone have pictures of the GF's outside dining areas near to the water? I would love to see what it looks like.
I am so relieved at finally getting a table booked for our party of 15.
The stress of all this has been really getting me down.
Now I am just awaiting an updated menu for something a little more exotic than there standard menu.
Any inputs on GF's private dining, greatly appreciated.
The more things I know the better.

BTW, I thought it was the epcot fireworks that I could see from the GF. I believe it is wishes from MK, is that right?

Congrats, Janine! I am so happy for you. Yes, you can see the MK Wishes from the GF marina (not Illuminations). Did you mention that it was a wedding? I hope they didn't give you any trouble about the dress. Thanks for the update. You inspire us all. By the way, if you don't mind, could you PM me the name and number of the person you worked with. As a future intimate, I would appreciate the information for my planning. It seems that finding a sympathetic ear for us gals is not such a easy task. Congrats again and enjoy!

Hi
She never mentioned my dress. So until then, I shall be wearing it.
She mentioned that they were just about the only ones that were ok about intimates.
Boy is she right, everywhere else I have tried have said 'no, I dont think so' or I will get back to you on that......I daren't hold my breath!
I spoke to a lady that I think was called Marcia. on 407-824-2473, she was a fantastic help to me.
She told me I could have a butler at $50 for upto 3 hours, she sent me a dinner menu, that could be personalised to suit me, and with our wedding date on. They would set up the tables and put rose petals on them, or if I liked I could speak with the GF florist.
She said there was no limit on the time we wanted to stay there.
That was good to hear because my gusts are not the type to go to bed at 9pm!
Here in England a wedding party can last until the early hours. We hope to be finished around 1 or 2 am I would think.
I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am at getting almost to the dream I had of having a beach bbq at the yacht club.
The yacht club conventions were awful to work with, they never once telephoned me back or emailed me at all, I had to chase, chase chase, and I still havent heard from them in 3 weeks. shocking service. I am glad not to be dining there on my wedding day.
You would have thought I was asking for the moon.
I am just hoping that I can now add a few little touches to my evening, ie caricature artist/balloon artist for the children, and maybe a visit from 2 little mice.
I shall keep you posted of further events.

Hi,

I am so pleased for you. My Dad keeps asking what I have planned after our Intimate and after reading these boards and how hard it can be I keep putting it off.

We wanted to do a pontoon but looks like we bust on the numbers. So like you I'm thinking of GF and having the music piped in for Wishes.

Have they given you an idea of cost? Do they give you a set price for menu?

I booked Palio's at the Swan and Dolphin for our intimate dinner and they never said no dress. They knew I was getting married at the Yacht Club and everything. They were really good about it, even asked if I need an extra table for presents or anything!

Hi
The menu is available on www.allearsnet.com . look on dining, grand floridian, private dining. Very reasonably priced or You can change it and have anything you like from any of the other GF's restaurants.
They will presonalise your menu.
She quoted me $50 for upto 3 hours for a butler, and drinks on consumption or standard bar at $625 + tax & gratuity.
This is worth bearing in mind for your decision. Most places are rather difficult on intimate brides.

Hi
Marcia mentioned if I would be wering my dress, and I said yes. She said that would be lovely.
Apparently the dinner is outside at the marina, with a an excellent view of the castle and the fireworks.
I have ordered all our meals, and upgraded some to the Citricos menu (there was a small 25% charge per each item ordered from their menu).
She is just checking to see if I could have a caricature artist come to draw my guests.
fingers crossed I can.
This is an idea for all you intimate brides wishing for a little more than just dinner in a restaurant.

How exciting, Janine! I actually called Marcia today to ask about various options. She was very nice. She is trying to find out if I can use an indoor space since our wedding will be on a Monday night in mid-December. She is even going to find out about using Citricos, since they are closed on Monday nights. Finally, some help for intimates!!! =)

Isn't she a gem?
I have spoke with a few people now whilst trying to book a dinner, and no one has been as helpful as Marcy. (Her name isn't Marcia as I previously thought).
I am so glad that she is helping you too. She comes back to me really quickly, as I am sure she will you too. Congratulations on finding somewhere, you don't have long now to go do you? how exciting!

Unfortunately, I have a long way to go....exactly two years tomorrow...=( I am amassing a ton of info while I wait. It is just too fun. I can't wait to hear all about your event when you get back from your dream day.

sorry, I looked at 13 days to go....until your holiday trip, sorry. ahh well, it'll soon come round. I cannot believe it is 18 months since I thought of a Disney wedding, and it's just 10 weeks away now.
