My Princess Carts Are Here!!!! -- Mulan photo pg2

Okay, I made the Belle at 5" (sorry no photos) of her in the ball gown standing up, not happy with it at all, the face is too small ....eyes and month were minut. Then did the "blue" Belle, went much better, eyes still a bit hard but at least they worked. So I'm thinking the bigger stuff will be okay, but the characters with the small faces will be impossible with the little bug.

I'm so upset that I didn't get the bigger bug now, but since I've only had mine for a couple of months, can I justify getting the bigger one? maybe I should try the "naughty" thing too when DH gets back in town next month :lmao: .

First, pick something easy. Like tag.
Then, make sure you are using the right paper for your settings. Don't be using a pretty patterned paper that is thin if your blade is at 5 and pressure is at 4. It'll be a very ugly sight. And yes, that is first hand experience.
A light weight cardstock seems to work the best on the new mats. Once the mats start to loose their sticky though, then the slick cardstock does some really neat sliding stuff and who knows what you will end up with. Ask PN96, she's seen it too.

Any way, pick a day and time and we will do this together via the phone. I have some minutes on my cell plan, so it won't cost a fortune to walk you through it.

Once you do it a few times, and remember about the paper & pressure, it goes pretty easy. Although I totally admit to getting really mad at my bug when it was tearing up my good paper. But it was user error. Not the bug's fault.

it's a deal! and you're right, it's total user error not the bug's fault. i'm sure it works fine with the right user!!!!!

Alright that's it!!!! I'm comin' over!!!

i'll put the coffee on! and the front porch light is on too!

awesome job on mulan! I did her at 2 inches for the tag swap and it was real tough - so those people will get her minus her hair scrunchie and the light blue parts of her top...I'll post photos tomorrow on the tag spoiler thread.

I've gotta share what I did tonight.

I cut Ariel at 6 and Cinderella at 13. Cindy's white dress bottom didn't cut right at all-it was almost a quarter inch too tall, maybe more. I hadto trim from all the sides and as you can see along the bottom, it's still not evenly cut.

I put stickles on her (hard to see) and used color on color with colored pencils on Ariel (also hard to see).

I think I figured out that with the eyes you have to layer whatever color their eyes are over the top of the white instead of putting them side by side. They don't fit side by side but look okay when you put color on top of white. An example of this is my Cinderella.

With Ariel, I trimmed the white instead of layering color on top of white.

So I'm thinking the bigger stuff will be okay, but the characters with the small faces will be impossible with the little bug.

Good to know. When they came out with these cartridges I started seriously thinking about getting a Cricut, but it would have to be the little one. If we are talking Expression money, I think I would prefer one of the Wishblade style systems. So I think I am leaning toward trading for the pieces I want from all my DIS scrapping buds.
