On Friday morning, we woke up in our very filthy Ramada hotel room. Knowing we had already paid (Hotwire) we were trying to tough it out. We just couldnt take a 3rd night, so I called WDW reservations. We booked for POP standard room for the night. We then decided (10 minutes later) that we wanted to stay an extra night. I called back and they only had a preferred room for Sat. night. We said fine and took it. When we checked in (early) they were able to get us in a preferred room for both nights so we didnt have to move. We were in the 60's building. LOVED it. The room was VERY small, but CLEAN. I didnt do the usual Lysol treatment when I walked in. The food court was great. The hummus and pita was fair, but hey, not exactly teir specialty. The pizza was pretty good. This is really like fast food, so no complaints. The mugs are the best thing since sliced bred. Do you have any idea how many times you can fill up a mug in 2.5 days? MANY!! All CM's were fabulous, the atmosphere was so much fun, and everything was clean!! We are now on site converts! We will not stay off site again unless it's free. We started planning our next trip about an hour after we left WDW lol. Addicts. WDW addicts.

BTW, we never had to wait long for a bus. At park closing, there 3 buses there back to back. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus, and that sure as heck beat walking to and from the car.

We are staying at the POP end of June. Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.
I do have a question, how long is the bus ride from the POP to MK. Most of our dinner PS are in the MK area. Just want to know how long I need to allow for. Thanks. :earsgirl:

Thanks for sharing. I'm really looking forward to my trip and staying at POP. :)

matt&jakesmom: I would allow an hour to an hour and half from the time you leave your room. The bus ride takes maybe 15 minutes but you might have to wait for a bus and then you have to exit the bus, stand in line to get in the park (which can take awhile esp. now that they have the finger scan thing). Then you have to walk through the park and get to the restuarant and check in. If you are early you can always ride something or maybe get a character autograph. Cutting it too close can be nerve wracking and get the whole day/evening off to a rocky start!

I'm glad you liked Pop, I want to stay there one day. I love their food court and the "vintage" stuff on the walls in the lobby! -Steph

I am glad to hear you liked it. DD3 and I will be staying there in 23 days!! I can not wait.

Debbie

DD and I are headed there tomorrow!!! :flower:

Matt&JakesMom, we were lucky and didnt have a wait for the bus. The max wait would be about 20 minutes. The ride is maybe 10 minutes with no stops. You are dropped off at the Magic Kingdom, so you bypass the T&TC. The longest line for entry was 30 minutes. It took about 10 to get through to have our bags checked. That was the day the sign flashed "Magic Kingdom Full". This was at 7pm. I would allow 45 min-1 hour as to not be rushed. BTW, we were late for our PS due to the long lines and to the crowds that we could not get around. We were still seated in a resonable amount of time. I will say that the bus ran at 6:20 am on the dot. We were at the turnstiles at 6:35 am.

We just returned from POP and loved it, too!

We LOVE to stay in *luxury* resorts ~ but on other kinds of vacations...

But on Disney trips, we want Disney, total Disney! We loved the colorful, sweet and fun HUGE icons!

Anyone can stay in a *nice* resort anywhere on the face of the earth! :)

But where else will you find such fun, colorful icons, of such sweetness & innocence?!?!

The busses were great (never waited more than 5 min) Mousekeepers were so nice (towel animals every night) had a great room and view (preferred 60s, 4th floor overlooking Hippy Dippy pool), loved every minute of it!!!!

Can't wait to go back and won't stay anywhere else!

:)

We (DW and DD 3) were at POP last year right before Thanksgiving and are heading back down there right before x-mas this year. DW is kinda picky and she loved it (I want to try a moderate resort but got outvoted by DW and DD). When we checked in we found out we got a free upgrade to the 60's building facing the pool. The themeing was great, food court was edible (it's fast food, how can you complain), the room was spotless and we retruned every day to either a towel animal or DD's toys laying on the bed watching TV. Bus service was good (never more than 10 min wait) except the night we stayed late to watch 'Wishes'. Tip:drive to MK if you plan on staying late (we had a 45 minute wait holding a sleeping 3 yr old, ouch). Other than that one night we had a great time and will continue to go back.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay there and you like the resort. We love PoP and already have stayed there twice and both times were just wonderful!

We just got back last night from POP! We LOVED it!!!It was a blast to stay there! We were in the 70's building room 4062.. Great location near the stairwell, Goofy Jets, Classic hall, Hippy Dippy Pool, etc!!!!

Our longest wait for a bus was 10 minutes! 3 times we rode back from the parks with just 1 other family!

You should have seen the towel animals DD got! She slept with them every night!!! The place is soooooo Kid friendly and adults will like it too!

That is so good that you loved Pop. I will be staying there for 7 nights starting in 27 days. I can't wait! :Pinkbounc

Just got the go ahead yesterday from DH to start planning a Sept. trip. It will be a short one (4 nights), but we plan to stay at PoP. This will be our first trip that we stay on site the entire time. We are probably taking MIL. We may only spend 2 days in the parks (MK and EPCOT) b/c MIL has never been before and we will all be on a fairly tight budget. In fact, MIL will only have $500 to go on. We will be driving, but it will be tight for her. Anyway, i can't wait!! :Pinkbounc I can't believe I am willing to cut out a lot of extras that I do just to take a 5 day trip lol. You know you're an addict when...

I do not know how ANY one can stay off site, when WDW has GREAT Hotels! ::yes:: When some folks at work tell me they are going to WDW and staying Off-site, I say: 'Than your not REALLY going to Disney, not unless you stay ON-SITE!"
