My poor Karissa and our trip to the ER yesterday

we were getting ready for church yesterday when I heard a crash and Karissa start SCREAMING! I ran in to find her laying on the ground just writhing in pain, holding her head and blood was everywhere

I finally got her up to find out what was wrong. She had apparently fallen against the edge of the table in such a way that she actually ripped the top part of ear in two peices it was horrible!! I got her packed with a towel and ran her to the ER. I was able to stop the bleeding for them to look at it ( with her screaming all the while ) and they cleaned it out and glued it together with the liquid stitches. They were afraid that she would pull the regular stitches out so they had to use those.

Poor baby! Her whole upper ear looks terrible! Its all swollen and bruised. I feel so bad for her, shes being such a trooper! She will play for a long time then just start crying. I dont know if it hurts that bad (she wont tell me) or if she just remembers it.

So if you would keep her in your prayers I would really appreciate it! I think were both traumatized for life!

Oh the poor dear, how old is she? I am so sorry that it happened, must have been so nerve-wracking. I hope she is feeling bettere todayand you are getting lots of snuggling time.

Poor thing, I know that must've hurt. How old is she? Even though it hurt, I'm sure she's having a good time showing off her battle wounds today - kids love things like that. DD4 fell off her swing yesterday & had a bump & scrape on her forehead, but she couldn't wait to get to preschool today to show her friends & teacher.

when I hit my head on the kitchen cabinet doors.....that I neglected to close......I hit hard and had a good gash in my head.....blood everywhere.......well anyways.....they did the liquid glue too.....but the pain was funny.......first it would hurt really bad and then it would subside.....I wonder if it was like a pulsating pain for her too......give her a hug from the lady pig.......did they tell you to give her some tylenol or something?

shes 4 too but she has a lot of delays so cant always tell us exactly whats going on and doesnt understand sometimes.


Im doing ok, thanks for asking . Relieved that it wasnt worse actually. It was traumatic but we made it

Thatw as the first time any of my kids has ever had to have stictches ( even the liquid ones), Ive never had them either other than from surgeries so I didnt know what to expect.

Oh my, I can see how you would both be scarred for life! That had to be horribly tramatic for both of you. I'm so sorry Karissa was hurt.

Binny, when or do you ever panic? I start shaking once everything is overwith. Once it's taken out of my hands is when I start reacting.

I have her in her room so she can be quiet for awhile. Im hoping for a nap. For her... and me.


I start shaking when I get home and can get away for a bit. I did fine until about an hour after we got home yesterday. Then I lost it.

I can sooo relate! I'm the same way.

Thank goodness she's ok and, you too. I know how vulnerable and scared we get being in those ER's.
