I am not sure how much more this kid can handle. In Feb. 02 he lost his grandmother (my mom) who had been his day care provider since he was born. In March 03 his great grandmother passed. The same week 2 of our older cats died. In July of 03 another old cat fell asleep and never woke up. We lost a 13 yo cat in Nov. and had a 16 yo cat put to sleep last month. Today we found out our baby cat (11) was hit by a car early Sun and killed. We found out from the Humane Society and it is breaking my heart. This cat was born wild and although he was tame he could not be kept inside. We've gone from 8 to 2 cats in a year and a half. It really hurts when they are old and ill but when they are totally healthy it crushes you. DS (13) just fell apart today and I have tried to comfort him. How much loss can a kid take?

Oh boy...I am so sorry for all your losses. It is a tough time. Not to mention being 13 is hard enough.

One thing I can tell you, if he asks for help, find him a counselor.

I lost my aunt, dad and great aunt all within a two month period.
I asked my mom to take me to someone and she said no.

Good luck to both of you.

Lisa

I sure know the Rainbow Bridge and knowing it is there, has brought comfort to many, jx3smom. Very sad. My best for all of you.

Just this side of heaven is a place
called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet
goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and
play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and
comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those
who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember
them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss
someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and
looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs
carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you
cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses
rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once
more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never
absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
I didn't go to work today and we hung out together. DS is ok today but it's really hitting me hard today and I keep expecting to see our Cliffy looking in the window or greeting us at the gate, or sleeping on DS's bed.
