I am aware of sun damage, but I'm old school. I was a teenager in the late 70's, early 80's.
The story starts like this. Part three of my plan was brought up, last year, at Christmas. My parents mentioned they wanted to take the family on a trip, to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Being the good Diser that I am, I ran the numbers for a Disney trip (staying at ASMu with QSDP, minimal tickets to cut costs). My Mom didn't like that idea, as everyone has been to Disney. She wanted a cruise to the Bahamas, were my parents went for their honeymoon.
As I looked into the costs associated with a cruise, I stepped up and told my parents I can't afford to go. I would need to buy passports, airfare, hotel (arrive a day early), transfer fees, food and a cabin for four. Long story short, my parents said they would pay for the 15 people to take the cruise. My sisters and I sat down and said, "Are you sure you can afford to do this?" It is after all, around the week of Thanksgiving. Airfare was going to be high. Airfare has been purchased for the trip. I wanted to jump on decent prices, as soon as they became available. Others were doing the same, because flights on Southwest were selling out. After everyone in my family purchased the early nonstop flight, the fare was up to $477. That flight has since come down. My passport forms have been sent in.
Looking at where to stay before the cruise was another obstacle. As well, as a number of people will be arriving from around the country at different times. Does everyone have to wait at the airport to arrive? I don't want to wait for a car service. I looked at hotel reviews and pricing, along with transfers on various travel websites. Then my DH said, "Why don't we stay at Disney?" That is a great idea!
I know what the accomodations will be like and pricing isn't to bad. There is ME; everyone can arrive at the resort shortly after their plane arrives.
Off I am to make reservations for everyone at ASMu.
