I did this a few weeks ago to honor my mother and mother-in-law. They are both Breast Cancer survivors. It is something I've wanted to do for a couple of years...but these things take time.

It's nice that you have a permanent reminder of the brave fight they fought and I pray they won't have to fight again. 2 of my closest friends are breast cancer survivors.

Wow! I'm not a tattoo fan, but that is a nice one. Good for you. :) And good for your mother and MIL as well. My best friend's mother and SIL are breast cancer survivors too. I buy nearly anything that supports breast cancer research (last week a special edition Safeway reusable grocery bag, tonight pink ribbon Hanes underwear), but I'm not brave enough for a tattoo. I'm a big wiener about needles. :scared:

that is a very nice looking tatoo. I'm sure they appreciate the sentiment.

:thumbsup2 thanks guys!
When I told my mom what I was doing, she laughed, then cried. I sent her a picture and she loved it!
I'm very proud of my mom & MIL....and ALL of the survivors out there. It's a hell of a battle to fight!

oh...and I'll be 40 in March, so dad said he couldn't ground me for getting another tattoo....and for this one, he said he wouldn't have anyway! :thumbsup2

Looks great. I've always wanted to get one as well - to honor my mom who unfortunately is not a survivor... :(

I'm so sorry...
If you want the template I used, I'll send you the link.

KMP1191, would you mind sending me the template? I LOVE your tattoo. I want two ribbons, a teal blue one for my mom being an Ovarian Cancer survivor and a pink one for my cousin and aunt who lost their fight to Breast Cancer. I'm going to have each one and a Congenital Heart Defect one for my DD17 who has had two open heart surgeries in the middle.

Thanks in advance!!!

If you missed the Lifetime movie "Living Proof" last night you MUST catch it. It made me FURIOUS that this Dr. had to fight for 12 years to get the drug approved that has ultimately saved hundreds of thousands of women... it's very moving. It doesn't work for every one, or every type of cancer but for those that it does help... those women are still here!! What a courageous man Dr. Dennis Slamon was!! :flower3:
