My PIN code saga (long)

The set-up: We are already booked 8-14 to 8-23 at the WL, woods view, two queen beds, with BIL joining us two days later, WL with bunks. We booked with AAA for the discount.

Pin arrived Monday, agents day off, oh well. Called AAA Tuesday, and she called me back. She told me "Disney says no availability for those dates, and even if there was, it could only be used on your room". Okay well, if there's an opening one is better than none, so I called Disney today. There was a courtyard with two queens available, so I called my agent.
She calls back and says, yes its available, but you can't have a package, just room only. I got a tad peeved. I told her to call back, that she needed to speak to someone who would look, that the code was there for a package, the CM just had to look.
Now she calls back happy as a clam. She got a different couldn't have been more helpful. We ended up with the PIN applied to both reservations, as a package. My cost when down just under $200 with an upgraded room. My BIL saved about $80, but still, that's with an upgraded room.

I'm happy, but did it have to be this hard?

Because you used AAA????

Having followed a LOT of posts on these boards I won't use them and won't recommend anyone else use them UNLESS they can find one of the FEW AAA TAs who seems to have a clue and care.

Savings aren't worth the "hassle factor" I can't tell you how many horror stories I have read....

It wasn't just AAA. If it wasn't your agent calling and getting the "no package" speech, it would have been you.

I have AAA, but I called CRO and had them hold the package for me at the right rate, THEN I called my AAA agent and told her, also giving her all of the PIN info including the package code that the CM told me she had to use. She called and booked a new ressie based off of my held one.
