My pictures are too large? Help!

I noticed with the change in the boards that you can now directly upload pictures to post. So I started my trip report and posted a few pictures from last trip in 2013, one of our family from last summer, and one from my son's phone. They all uploaded fine. Then I tried to upload the pictures from our first day of this trip- all pictures are taken from the same camera I used before. They are all saying there is an error and that the file is too large.

I'm not exactly tech-savvy and I'd like to avoid having to upload over 1000 pictures to somewhere like photobucket when I've already uploaded them to snapfish (which I use to print them). Can anyone help me? TIA!

I use a photo-hosting site, and I know you do not want to upload your pix all over again.

My usual pix are also too large for a direct transfer to the DISboards. I figured there must be a way -- and I found it for Widows users.

I normally view my pix in the Windows Photo Viewer. In the upper Left hand corner is a drop-down menu that says "open". Open "Photo Gallery". The photo will then appear in that viewer.
In the upper left corner, click on the "Edit, organize, share" button. This will bring up all pictures in that folder. Go to the "edit" tab. You will then see the "resize button. You can select one or as many pictures as you want, to resize. The 'medium' and 'large' size should do fine.

I tried dragging and dropping on the Technical Support forum and they did fine. This should save you time because you can do the whole folder at once. There may someone out there with a better idea. There may be a way to do the same thing in one of the photo editing programs, but I have not done that.
