my phone fell in the toilet

lol....sorry this happened. yuck! let it dry out. maybe it will still work?

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! I think I would flush it and buy a new one.

That happened to me once. The bad part is that it's not covered under any warranty because it's liquid damage. I had success drying it out for a few days, and then it worked. Mine was clean toilet water though. Well, as clean as toilet water can get, I guess. :earsboy: :earsboy:

That happened to me too!!! At a BAR no less. I didn't know whether to fish it out, leave it there, or what!!!! I fished and of course it didn't work. It dried out and STILL didn't work. It kept saying "no service" no matter where I was. I took it in and told them what happened (Cingular) and they gave me a new one because it had been less than a year of me having it   I was actually going in to buy a new one. Oh well, I was happy I was getting a new one! I couldn't IMAGINE using the old one!! EEEWWWWWW GROSSSSSSSS!!!

LOL, just so you aren't eating a sandwhich while you are on the phone in the bathroom...or were you? Is that why you dropped the phone?

That happened to me with my Nextel from work. In my case, it was just the battery. Phone still works. See if it works if you swap out the battery.

DFriend has dropped hers several times in water and lo and behold they eventually begin working again! I however, dropped mine several times on the floor and the phone did not like that and never worked right again!

THis happened to me too, at Tusker House at AK! I was SOOO excited about getting to ride on Mickey's float in the parade, that I wasn't paying attention, and DH's phone fell out of my fleece pocket and into the toilet!! (clean toilet water)

I was so worried that he'd be mad that I tried to dry it off with my t-shirt, then gave it back to him. Luckily he bought me a new shirt so I didn't have to be in Mickey's parade covered with toilet water! But, he has gotten LOTS of mileage out of that story....

I sent my DS's cell phone thru a wash cycle. I wash sure that it was toast!

We let removed the battery, and allowed it to dry out for 72 hours. Lucky for us, it sprung back to life. However, the battery doesn't hold a very good charge and really should be replaced.

AT&T does sell insurance on the phone that will cover theft and damage, including water damage. I priced it out after this little incident but determined that the added cost per month wasn't worth the cost of the phone.

I'm not sure what I would have done if it had fallen in the toilet!

thanks guys. it did fall into clean toilet water. i'm trying to figuire out how to get the darn thing open so i can let it dry out. i hope, hope, hope it dries out. i feel so lost and helpless with out it. :(
