I was at Pop Century Jan 18-23. I was not going to stay there because I had a postcard for a moderate but only POR was available and I've stayed there many times. Also, Tyler convinced me. Unfortunately, I did not meet him so thanks Tyler!
Check-in was a breeze. It was 2:30 and there was nobody on line. I had a problem with my package ($100 Disney dollars not there as promised). The cm (Geraldine) worked hard for me and I got them. My room was in the 90s building and I asked to change to 70s B. No problem. ( I never do requests before arrival). I had other requests during my stay, some strange but guest services did not bat an eye and were helpful and simply fabulous!
The room was ready, luggage came fast. The toilet flushed loudly but didn't spray. The walls were thin and we heard a baby crying in middle of the night. Lots of noise from outside but we were facing the courtyard right by the foosball and we had requested that particular location. Next time, I'll request a quiet room facing the back on the fourth floor. I loved the pillows (weird, I know) and had the best Disney sleep. I know people had issues with the thermostat but we found 68 to be cold and kept ours higher especially in the morning and after swimming.
The resort was adorable and we went swimming three times. The laundry had lines at 9pm but that was the only time I had available. The gift shop was great, the arcade lots of fun. We did not eat in the food court so I can't comment but everything looked good and there were no lines. Plenty of space. Loved the shadow boxes in the lobby.
We never waited more than 10-15 minutes for a bus to the parks. Usually, a cm entertained the crowds.
I highly recommend PC but it is a value resort and shouldn't get compared to the moderates and deluxes. I hope not to stay there again because I am on a crusade to try all the resorts but will happily stay there again if I have to.
