I had several packages delivered to us before Christmas that were addressed to 2 different people & we had no idea who they were. The first few came from
Amazon, we were out of town at the time. My daughter stopped at our house & found 1 on our porch, she never even looked at the name, just stuck it inside. We found another there the night we got home. Another was delivered with our held mail. The next day, I tried to find anyone by those names in our neighbor hood or town, so I could bring them their packages. My DIL, neighbor & I all tried in fact. We couldn’t even find anyone by those names in our state. I called Amazon, expecting they would come pick them up. The agent checked into it, said the orders were incorrectly associated with our address. Told me to keep or donate the items, they would not pick them up & we should not return them. I reinforced I would be happy if they would come pick them up but was told no again, keep, donate or toss out. Another package addressed to 1 of the same people was delivered a few days later via USPS. That 1 I put back in the box labeled No Such Person At This Address. I assume it was associated with the same Amazon order but was just delivered by the Post Office.
Just because someone else got your package, doesn’t mean they didn’t try to do the right thing to get it to you or return it.
