My paranoid nightmare

My middle child will be 2 years, 8 months when we head back to WDW next month. She's tiny and looks younger than she is, but if you ask her age, she will loudly and insistently proclaim that she is 3 (or sometimes 4). Now, I know that (a) we are not likely to be challenged on her age while we're there, and (b) I would never lie about her age, but I still find myself cringing at the very thought that a CM might think we're trying to sneak a 3yo in for free. I feel like I need to have her birth certificate out and available, just to show she's really two.

(I realize, btw, that if this is the most of my worries, I am darn lucky. It just happens to be one of my own personal bugaboos).

If this is bothering you, just carry her birth cert with you - or a copy of it.

Then you have no need to be concerned b/c you have proof with you.

I also think this is very unlikely to happen.

They might very well ask especially if she is big for her age. You may want to carry a photocopy of her Birth Certificate but i really don't see a CM not taking your word for it. It just isn't that big of a deal, certainly not enough to ruin your day by arguing with you.

I wouldn't worry. My DD will be 3 in Dec. and also proclaims she is 3. I have NEVER been asked to verify any of my childrens ages or has any of the families we have traveled with. My cousin's son is a year younger than my oldest DD but is twice her size. They didn't question it when she was an "adult" and he wasn't.
Also to bring peace f mind just tuck her birth certificate in w/ your packet of papers and lock it in your safe. This is what I do. Mainly for the airport just in case someone asked to see it.(which there again have NEVER been asked for it) But if you did need it at least you would have it there and not have to buy her a ticket or try and get someone to fax you a copy.

We were never asked about our DD's age when we were there last Sept and she was 5 months away from turning 3. But if it gives you peace of mind, carry the birth certificate with you. :)

My son will be turning 3 on our trip in a little over three weeks. His birth certificate is already copied and in the "diaper bag" (a Buzz Lightyear mini-backpack). My son is very big for his age (he takes after his daddy, who is 6"5.5" tall), he actually measures over 40 inches.

But I would rather err on the side of caution and have the birth certificate with me than be stuck at the gate having to pay for something because I didn't think ahead.

Have a great trip!

My 2y7mo will be going next month, too! I'm bringing his birth cert, but leaving it in the room safe. Everything I've read indicates that we won't have any problems, so I don't want to carry it around for fear of it being stolen, but I do want to have it within a 15 minute drive in the event that I get harassed at the gate.

If you are staying at a Disney Resort you can ask for a KTTW for your child. As long as the child is less than three where it would normally say either "Adult" or "Child" on the KTTW it will say "Infant". Obviously it will not have a ticket encoded on it; having that at the Gate will alleviate any problem.

My son is 2 yr. 6 months. We were asked his age at the restaurants a couple of times, but no one asked him. We were never questioned at the gate about his age. You can bring along a copy if it brings you peace of mind but I wouldn't worry about it. And as CF said, we were issued a KTTW card that said "Infant" on it at check in.

You are so the man!!! I will be sure to do this, as he is quite tall. Thanks again!!!
