I'll make this good and short.
DH and I took our DD for her 1st birthday, even though we had lots of people say to us "she wont' remember" my answer to them was always "she won't remember a party either, and I know DH and I will remember".
So our trip to the most magical place in the world was success.
DD was much better than I anticipated, we took a 10:00 am flight the day before her birthday, she was supposed to nap around that time, but she didn't, she was very interested in the plane, she was a lap child, that didn't bother me at all, and we ended switching our seats so that i can be at the window with her and DH in the middle. It worked out well.
We took our own umbrella stroller (it also reclines for napping purposes) and we took the stroller all the way up to the gate and picked it up at the gate in Orlando. This made everything so much easier, we could just stroll her all over the airport.
I packed her a weeks worth of fruit juice for her, and bought two small cans of Similac (its easier for me to carry the water and make the milk on the spot) Baby centers at Disney only carry Nestle milk products. i also packed cheerios, her usual snacks.
Upon arrival at Orlando we picked up our bags and went over to Mears, that worked out well for us, we were the first dropped off at Port Orleans - French Quarter. We ended up getting to the resort at about 2:30pm 3:00pm just in time for check in, then i ran over the resorts store to see what i may need that i might have forgotten, nothing thank God, and i checked out the milk, I bought milk for our room, thanks to the standard refrigerators in our room, we also requested a play pack for her to sleep in.
We then headed over to Downtown Disney on the boat, beautiful afternoon so we didn't let it got to waste, and went straight for the Christmas store and bought DD her "GOH" pin and had it personalized, it was great. Then we looked for a snack, and relax by the river.
the day of DD birthday, we had a 9:40am PS at Cindy's, our first time there as well, it was wonderful, they even brought out a little cake with a candle for her. DD was looking at everything, she was very entertained. We took pics with all the princesses, and they even gave her a birthday card which they all signed. After our breakfast we spent the rest of the day at MK and enjoy "Wishes" which was so beautiful like nothing i've ever seen, forget the fire works on the 4th of July, this was truly magical. Is a must see. DD took about 2 full naps, one late morning into early afternoon and we sat behind the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway road from Toontown into TomorrowLand, the train goes by every 10 min but otherwise its pretty quiet and cool for a nap. The rides we did with her were the many adventures of winnie the pooh, mad tea party, haunted mansion, carousel of progress, magic carpets of aladdin, peter pan's flight, country bear jamboree, snow white scary adventures, i must say she loved them all.
The AK and it was super nice we , took it slow and saw flights of wonder, we did Kilimajaro safaris, its tought to be a bug, the festival of the lion king, she did well in all of them.
The whole tip was wonderful, we overpacked certain things so go over your packing lists, and be realistic in how much you would need certain things etc.
I brought about 60 diapers with me and that was more than enough.
I bought solid food at the baby centers only if DD wanted it, other wise i would give her some of my solids.
I can't wait to go back, hopefully soon
Have a nice trip to you all.
