What a weird cruise - just got off the Dream this morning. It was a great cruise except for the 6 hours I got to spend in medical for dehydration. I ran the 5K on Castaway Cay and felt a little sick afterwards. The humidity was hard for me. Later that night felt weak and then couldn't get up off the floor. My husband called medical and they brought me to the medical ward and administered 2 bags of IV fluids. It was a horrible experience but one I will always remember for how great the staff was. Medical and the kitchen staff - even guest services called to keep checking up on me. I felt better the next morning but it sure was bad at first. Kitchen staff said they would bring any food I wanted to my room. So nice. I can't wait to go back on another cruise, but I hope I don't have to visit medical next time :)

I love stories with happy endings. Glad you are OK and had great service!

great to know everything turned out ok. Good reminder for everyone to stay hydrated on your vacation.

Glad you are OK! We also had a good experience with the Medical Center on the Fantasy in August. Our friend tripped and fell on the start of her Baths excursion in Tortola but didn't think it was anything and continued for the whole excursion. By the time she got back her ankle was very swollen and she could hardly walk. Went to medical with her and she was diagnosed with a severe sprain. She could not walk the rest of the cruise and had to have a wheelchair and then tried crutches. She was very pleased with how nice and caring the staff were. We all made the best of it taking turns wheeling her and the two baby strollers around the ship!!!

Glad it worked out! Luckily for your future cruise plans, barring an illness that dehydrates you, hydration is something completely under your control. You'll know next time that a) the CC fun run is pretty much always hot and humid so b) you can get and keep yourself hydrated (with good old water - alcohol dehydrates you) before, during, and after the run. :) Or actually the whole time you're on the cruise and...well, basically you should in general. :)
