I was just sitting here thinking..... my best friend (my oldest son, Robert) just turned 5 (yes, five) on 6/19.
My how time flies.
Until the day I die, I will always remember 2 things about the first 5 years with him around.....
1) When he was born .... we didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl.... I said "It's a boy... and you can really tell!"
(God's honest truth, I did say it!)
2) He hates being called anything but Robert (no Bob, Bobby, Rob, Robbie). If you call him by a "cutesie" name, he'll say "My name is Robert!" If you persist, he'll then say "My name is Robert Allen Rider!"
Yes, I know your son shouldn't be your best friend and all that. But the bottom line is... he will always be my "bud". We have common interests in everything BUT sports (that's reserved for DS2.5), and we just enjoy hanging around each other.
Sorry this is so long....but Robert's Grandparents are "borrowing" him for the day, and I miss him and DS2.5 already.
