My Night at the T-Rex... WOW!

Scrubba2- We arrived at 5:10 PM for dinner and were taken right back to a great table in the Fern Forest Room. DW loved the view into the Reef Room. Not sure when they open for lunch.

IWISHFORDISNEY- I didn't hear any really loud dino roars or anything from the animatronics. The Meteor Shower is kinda loud but I kinda doubt it would be anything like traumatic to the little guys. Just ask to be seated in a room that is not so LOUD...

This site gives some idea of the menu, however, it hasn't been updated. The menu at DTD is different... However, the site is interesting...

This site is interesting and will give you a little taste of the what you might see...

One thing I forgot to mention... the theming and detail was even extended into the mens rest room (entrance to the rest stops through the Ice Cavern) where you'll find fossils incorporated into the wall tile. Don't know if they are real or just reproductions, but each had a little brass plaque telling you what they were, the age, where they were from and where they were found. I like attention to details like that!

We are planning to go back pretty soon and I'll try to get a menu- but not without permission!

Thank you so much for posting these pictures and writing a review! I showed my kids and they are now so excited to get to try the T-Rex Restaurant! Thanks!

Thanks for the great review and pics! That ice cave looks so awesome! So does the bar! I can't wait to check it out in Jan!

i showed df and he thought this looked like a cool place to eat. He asked if it was on the ddp. I told him no. He said maybe we can get something small to eat. I told him about the prices being expensive. He said maybe we can just walk through it.

lol! Is there a decent meal to share?

Since they are part of the rainforest family of restaurants I would think they take the club card which gives a discount also.

We were there just over 2 weeks ago - the night we landed we needed fooooood and there was no wait at T-Rex, and it was 9.30pm on a sunday.

Food was ok - not enough choice for me for the meat meals - I went for the ribs and wouldn't try them again, tough and chewy but the sauce was good.

Atmosphere was fun but wore us down after a while - but we were eating at what was 3.30am for us after a long day and flight so it may be better when we're more awake next trip!!

Thanks for sharing the pictures! I am wondering how my girls would like it and if they will be scared. Hmmm.

I just did a Google search for the menu.
Here it is:

Just got back from our trip last night. We ate dinner at T-Rex on the night we arrived, Saturday, Dec. 13. DTD was packed that night and we waited about 40 minutes for a table. My kids loved it! Actually we all loved it - it was a very fun place to eat. The food was very good. The sevice was pretty good, just really, really slow, but the place was packed out.

I am going to make adrs now--- it is part of that system (ADR) right?

You probably already found out if you tried to book, but you can't do it through WDW-DINE. You have to call the restaurant directly, and when I called they said they will start taking ADRs on January 5, 2009.

OP, this is a great review with terrific pics!!!! I was planning on having lunch there in Feb, and now I'm super excited!!! Can't wait to show my DD your pics! :thumbsup2

What is their phone number, and how far in advance will they be taking reservations, once they start?

Thanks for the review. Great job. We look forward to eating here in April.

That looks like such a cool place!! Reminds me a lot of the Rainforest restaurants.

This looks AWESOME! We were planning Rainforest for DS 4th brithday dinner but showed him this and thing we are changing plans! Thanks so much for posting this review :)

Has anyone found the number and how far in advance they take ressies?

Thanks so much!

The phone number for reservations is 407-828-8739. They will take reservations up to 6 months in advance. I called this morning and was told to just call back at the beginning of May for a Thanksgiving Day reservation.

Good Luck!

I was at T-Rex for lunch on Wednesday. Very cool theme. I ate at the bar because I didn't want to wait in line as it seemed there were more people at T-Rex than the rest of DTD. I had the nachos and they were great. They may be worth a return visit for my wife and I to share in May.

Its on our plan for August!!! Can't wait!!!
