My new puppy

Many of you offered condolences last year when I had to send my furbaby to the Rainbow Bridge. It has gotten really lonely without her. I had the opportunity to adopt a rescue puppy this week and I took it.

Meet Sheriff Chewbacca or Chewie as we are calling her



She's a pug mix. Mom was a pure bred Pug surrendered at term and gave birth that night to 5 puppies. My future SIL's cousin fosters for the rescue group so she had her literally from before her birth. They called her Sheriff Callie and I had planned Chewbacca as my next pups name. We kept the Sheriff as my DH and DS are both Sheriffs. Felt like it was an omen that she was meant to be ours.

My mum's beagle kennel club name is Sherif woody, we chose the woody part and the breeders added the sherif along with their name

Thank you every one. It's wonderful having a dog again. The best part is that the rescue I adopted her from has gotten one puppy mill selling store to only have the rescue adoptions. Her 3 remaining sisters are there now. If they prove successful in the long run with the adoptions all of the chain stores in this area will only do rescue adoptions.

It's a small step but one in the right direction.

There were 3 of the pups left on Thursday when they took them to the adoption center. Not sure if any are left.

The owner who surrendered the mom said they didn't know. I'm hoping the vet can give me an idea of the father on Friday when I take her for her next shots. We think possibly a Jack Russell Terrier from her looks.

She would kiss back. She is a real cuddler. One of the reasons I picked her was as soon as I picked her up she was kissing me and then fell asleep in my arms.
