My new favorite ice cream flavor - Handel's Cake Batter

Who would have believed that someone could come up with an ice cream that tastes just like cake batter. We saw a PBS program on ice cream last night and, despite the fact that it was only 42 degrees outside and raining, we hopped in the car and headed for the nearest ice cream shop. While standing in line, I saw a sign that the featured flavor of the day was "Cake Batter". I had to give it a try. Having just made a yellow cake the day before, the taste of cake batter was still fresh in my memory. The ice cream tasted EXACTLY like cake batter.

I suggest that you run to the nearest Handels Ice Cream shop and get a scoop of cake batter ice cream.

I prefer Cold Stone, as they have a set price which includes several toppings, that they then mix in with the ice cream.

Got it the other day from Handel's -- it's awesome!! I've heard Cold Stone Creamery's is really good too, but Handel's is closer to us.

I know the Handel's you are talking about. We almost went to that one last night! We should get together sometime for an official DIS ice cream tasting meet. Maybe we can all go there for dessert after our Memorial Day picnic.

We have a Mom/Pop ice cream place by us. They have been doing cake batter for a couple of years and it's my favorite.

Marble Slab Creamery has a Cake Batter flavor also and like Cold Stone has the mix-ins for a fixed price.

Just another Cake Batter option that might be more in your neck of the woods.

Cake Batter seems to be the flavor of the year. A lot of companies are adding to their lines this spring. The grocery store has many varieties.

We don't have a Handel's near us but I did try Coldstone's version. It's very yummy. BTW - The Coldstone Red Pan for May is Caramel Latte.

I got certificates off restaurant.com for Coldstone Creamery. I think they were $4 for a $10 certificate. Check it out.

I LOVE their cake batter ice cream with graham crackers in it. YUM!

Dangit dangit DANGIT...now you people have got me seriously craving some ice cream despite the fact that it's 9:30 pm and none of those places are especially close to me (though, evidently, there's a Cold Stone opening about 5 miles away soon! Yay!)

I havent been to Handels in forever even though its 5 minutes from the house. I saw that advertised as well for a couple of weeks...been thinking about trying it.

I am seriously going to have to add a trip to Handels to this year's Memorial Day picnic (to make up for the fact that we aren't doing Cedar Point this year). I think that it's a fair trade. Any of you NE Ohioans who haven't been to the picnic in the past should drop by and say "hi" on Sunday (or should I say Sundae).

There is a Handels on a corner near us and in the summer there are always tons of people loitering around the corner. DH calls it crack ice cream and always makes some comment about it when we pass. We've never tried the place, maybe we should.
