My New Cars Still Broken!!!

Surely your insurance company must provide you with a courtesy car if you were not at fault?

Claire ;)

Unfortunately this is not the case. You get a courtesy car prior to the engineer viewing the car and deciding what to do with it. So I had a c car for a couple of days when he declared it a write off. Once a car is declared a write off you are entitled to a c car for 3 days only with my insurance company.

I could have paid for one out of my own pocket but then you are not guaranteed to get that money back when you claim back for uninsured losses from the guilty party.

It has been an absolute nightmare the last 3 weeks but we are just thankful we (my son and I) survived it. The lad who was driving the other car was fine.

It was my first insurance policy I took out (after being on hubbie's company car policy) so was not really aware of the fine details to look for. The fact that I get a brand new replacement car in the first year if I have not driven over 10,000 miles has turned out to be an extremely valuable insurance cover. Otherwise I would not have been getting the full value back for my 6 week old car. The other good thing is the insurance company is going to go through the process of getting me a new car which saves me a lot of hassle. I will just have to turn up and pick it up.

the courtesy cars going back today, guess what its leaking red fluid (sounds familiar doesnt it)

My car better be ready on wednesday, I have had enough running around trying to find out whats happening. And they definatly treat women like idiots at this car garage,

so frustrated, so I am sorting holiday stuff out instead

yep sorting holiday stuff relieves stress (I had a massive migrane the other day ouch)

but it also costs money hehe, time to stock up on things!!!! like new towels!!!! and meds

how was your trip alison?

Our trip was great thanks Anna :thumbsup2

Organised chaos as always but it works for us

Mandy just asked if I'd write about the vow re-newal.............I'll try to get my 'brave head' on ;)

Accommodations perfect, car good, beach lovely, and a relaxing change from the parks, the candles I found yummy, Crocs really comfy......I even managed to 'shop' for an hour or two....and bought things..........truely an amazing acheivement for me :rotfl:

Oh thats not too good, DH had a courtesy car until he was paid out in full for the lose of his car. As you say I guess it depends on the terms of your insurance.
At least as you say you get a brand new car back and neither you or your son were seriously hurt.
