My New Car

I bought a 1991 Mercury Cougar today. I'm more than happy with everything except for the sound system, which consists of a tape player and an AM/FM radio. I converted to CD a long while ago, so the only tape I own is N Sync Christmas (shakes head... please don't judge). I'm looking to get an in dash CD player. Does anyone have any suggestions? What kind do you have? Do you like it? The biggest thing is that I'm looking for something $100 or under.

No suggestions on the player, but wanted to congatulate you on the new ride! It must be great...we are in a car search ourselves and it has been a headache. Waht color is it?
Enjoy your Cougar...maybe try Best Buy? While I am not crazy about them personally, I guess they have a decent selection, and I know 2 pwople who have had sound system installed by them.

We spent about $250 at Best Buy putting a CD player and speakers in the 1993 Olds my son drives. Really crappy stuff. Speakers quit working within a few months, but the installation warranty was only 90 days. We replaced the speakers (which were blown) for his 19th birthday at a locally owned place -- installation warranty is forever and the speakers themselves are guaranteed for a year or two.

I can't comment on the CD player upgrade, but I just wanted to commend you on your choice of music. I too own that CD and whip it out every Christmas season.
