My new baby

Adorable! Does she have a name?

Ummm...well, right now I call her "cow" or "sweet baby girl". Usually they get a number when they go into the herd. DH has 120 in the active herd and about 80 or so heifers. What is sort of scary is that he can tell which cow is which by looking at their udders. I try not to think about that too much. :lmao:

Awww, that face, those eyes. So cute.

What a cute baby! What's her name?

Edit: Just read she is currently nameless. I think this one deserves a name. I just read in Reader's Digest that some scientists in Europe discovered that cows with names give more milk than cows without. Just a tidbit of info. :)

That's interesting. I'll have to share that with DH. Do you think he can come up with names for 200 cows? :)

Any suggestions for naming "cow/sweet baby girl"?

Carnation? :lmao: I had to go buy some in a can the other day.

Really cute cow photos.

:lovestruc I like the name April too! That's so cute and femine. Well for a cow anyway. So what will become of April? Does she go with the rest of the cows to make milk? Do you have a dairy farm or is this just a pet? I would fall in love with my animals if I had a farm - could never eat any of them, except maybe a chicken, lol! I know, you don't eat dairy cows. Do you ever enter them into the county fair or anything like that?

Congratulations on your new addition!:cutie:

She is so cute! You should submit that last picture (where she is looking right into the camera) to cuteoverload.com. I bet they would post it.

She will be here with me for a while--I'm not sure how long I'll have to bottle feed her since she was a premie.... and when she's big enough she'll go in with the cows that are being raised as replacement heifers. We don't buy any cows because we breed and raise our own. When she's 2, she'll be bred and when she has her calf she will begin being milked with the rest of the cows. Yes, we do have a dairy farm.

We haven't entered any of ours in the fair but DH used to show and judge cows and horses.

I love answering questions about the farm! :goodvibes

I've never heard of cuteoverload.com. I'll check it out! She is REALLY pretty, isn't she? It's those big eyes! And when I feed her, her little tail just swishes back and forth like she's so happy. If she hears my voice she comes running over to me.

Oh my gosh that is one adorable cow. I have loved cows since I was a kid!
I think you should name her Cindy Moo Who!
