Mind you, I've made this all up in my head. (I do that sometimes!)

Grandma lives with the family, she's not very nice and they don't like to take her out in public. They make up stories and excuses for why she can't accompany the family on outings to the store.

When they come back, they throw their purchases in the basement window so mean granny doesn't see them hauling in good stuff that she isn't allowed to have.

After she's sound asleep, they go downstairs and retrieve their stuff.

What do you think?

Sorry to be OT, but do you all know that you can subscribe to a thread without posting to it by clicking on Thread Tools? I just noticed quite a few people posting just to say that they are subscribing.

I'm dying to know what the outcome of this is. Growing up there were often strange things happening at the house across the street from me. The father was never there, but there were 2 teen boys who lived there, too. On the roof of their house behind the little metal pipe sticking out there was a metal bucket with something growing out of it. Every once in a while one of the boys would go up there and fuss with it. Can't imagine what that was!

Does it look full? Heavy? Light? Can you see any shape or form to what might be inside?

I have no idea what they could be doing. But It's very interesting. As others have asked, what kind of bag is it? Is it always the same bag? Different bag every time? Does it look like they're toting something small, or big? Heavy or light?

Does someone go in after the bag is thrown in or do they just throw the bag through the window and then go in through the door?

If someone crawls in after the bag maybe they have lost their house keys and that is the only way to get in??

Is this a window that would go to a basement? Maybe they have a garbage can under the window, and they are dumping their car garbage into the can (via the window) so they don't have to walk down a flight of stairs?

If it is a window to the main floor I have no idea...

maybe they have a dog that likes to escape and they feed him in another room so they can get in without he getting out?
