On Monday we went to the studios as the last park day of our 3 day trip. I had my MDE app and added it to my husband's phone as well. All went well at 10AM and we got boarding group 46. (my wi-fi connection was a little quicker than his LTE).
I kept checking it as time went on and we did other things. At about 145 I checked it and it was up to group 44. 5 minutes later I went on my app and it made me put in my password. Hmmm, that's weird. Then it said "it appears you aren't in any queues"!!!!!!
I didn't lose it as I think I was in shock. I didn't know if the CMs would believe me. Then I looked at DH's phone and he still had it! Phew! I took a screenshot just in case! Which I will do every time from now on. Disaster averted!
Later that night we went to 50s PTC where we had a reservation, and my app said "it appears you don't have any reservations"!! But it was on DH's phone!
The next day, I booked a lunch at Kona before we left on MY phone. When I got to Kona my app said "it appears you don't have any reservations", but again, it was on DH's phone!!
I'm going to delete the app until our next trip, but I would have been a mess if I hadn't gotten to ride ROTR for the first time after all that. Did it go wonky because I added it to my husband's phone as well?

No not likely. The most common issue with MDE is that when you are using WiFi service and it is spotty like at Disney your session is dropped but does not properly reconnect.

I would guess that your husband's phone was on cellular only and his session did not have all the drops and reconnects in MDE as your session(s). That is why we suggest that guests force quit the app just before trying to join a BG. And as a reminder to all don't do this at the last minute but 5-10 minutes before 10 AM & 2 PM BG windows open.

Yikes! I was going to put the app with my MDE account on DH phone too!
Who has the newest, fastest smartphone and has actually practiced the steps to join a BG?

Those are the keys to maximizing your changes for getting a BG. The window only lasts an average of 10-15 seconds!

I’m so not a tech person. What does it mean to “force quit” the app?

We have a trip in October, and it’s been more than a year since our last trip, so we’ve not had to play with boarding groups yet.

I did not force quit, but I closed all apps running in the background and cleared my cache and did the same to his phone. I felt lucky to get group 46, I wasn't picky. It just freaked me out when it disappeared.

it's a lot of things combined. Having the fastest, most recent phone helps but I have a galaxy note 8, on metro PCS unlimited data, by no means the fastest ohone or service and have managed to get bg 2, actually have managed to get a bg in all of my attempts
