Ah, I was so sad to see your trip ending -- and I do have to say you are a better person than me because I am always jealous of the people checking in as I am checking out -- but then you started your fall trip, and I wasn't sad anymore! I remember reading about that ME trip to Saratoga Springs! What an unmagical way to start a Disney trip.
It was so bad that I didn't even try to get a picture as we drove under the arch. We were just ver happy that we were the first stop.
I wonder if the drivers feel like since it's late at night that they don't have to really try and get the people excited? I wouldn't have liked that bus ride much either!
What part of Saratoga Springs did yall stay? Did yall enjoy that resort?
After sitting for so long, you'd think the driver would at least have a short greeting, you know,
"Welcome to Disney World, folks. Hope you have a magical visit." Even if it was said without enthusiasm, some acknowledgement that there were passengers on the bus with him would have been nice.
We were way far out, as far as rooms, but with just a short walk to the bus stop, we were fine. One morning, I walked all the way across the place to the main building, and it was an enjoyable and pretty walk. It was really nice to be right across from Downtown Disney. We did enjoy it, and we are grateful to
Wigd and
Shocker for letting us have their points to stay there.
I'm sad to see the last TR end but very excitted to see the fall one!
Love the pics!
Here is a pic of my birthday cake... it was perfect and tasted awesome!
This is the newest addition to my collection.....
it's Minnie!
My DMom added the sign, it made me laugh when I pulled into the driveway.
Nice cake, and isn't it sweet that your mom added that fun little touch. She knows you well.
Thanks! I do have a pretty good handle on driving in the snow. It wasn't bad when I was going to work after my final yesterday (which you may or may not have seen from FB started much later than it should have...it was supposed to go 12-2 but ended up going 12:45-2:45), but after work it was pretty bad. I live on a one-way side street and the only way to get to it is to go up another side street, and there was absolutely no plowing, sanding, or salting. I was very happy to be home last night!
I absolutely will take some pictures! And that reminds me, when I was out on Sunday night, my friend was taking the back roads for our Sonic run and we saw this house (courtesy of Charles and his iPhone)
The picture really doesn't even do it justice. The traffic was really slow coming up to this house and it was because the house, front yard, side yard, trees, everything, were lit up and had decorations everywhere, and people were crossing the street and walking around b/c they were allowed to walk around the house and yard and look at everything. I'm pretty sure the truck that you can see had a generator in the back. Had there been a place to park, we would have gotten out, too, but there were six very hungry people in the car
I'm glad that there are people who go to the trouble of doing all those displays for the enjoyment of others, especially for the kids.
Hi friends!
I'm here but slow in reading, as usual. My NY resolution is to be a better DIS friend.
I just love reading another MeMom & Jill TR!! It's so fun to see your adventures. How lucky we are to be able to have friends that "get" our Disney love & share in that! I am thankful for my DIS friends!
Have a fabulous week!! I am currently thinking I may forgo the solo trip for a July road trip with my sister & brother....decisions, decisions!!!
Where would this road trip take you? We want to go to St. Louis to do the zoo and DIS meet, but if it means no Disney trips, we'll have to go with the Disney trip. Now that Trent is a part of the Disney package for us, it's pretty much going to be Disney every time. Of course, if he could get a good priced flight to St. Louis, then we could all be there together. We'll have to look and see what those flights would run for him.
I completely agree with this!! Some people save money for years to go on their once-in-a-lifetime trip and I really think CMs need to keep this in mind. Walt would not like it at all.
Cannot wait to join along on another fun trip!
I guess I feel 'ownership' in the Disney experience, and I want everyone to leave feeling
wowed!
Oh yay! I am with CP! I was sad for a flash, until I realize you were rolling right into the next one!!! YAY!!!!! I liked Saratoga Springs. It was the first family trip we had together with both kids, we stayed there in a studio and liked it. Late getting in but how fun to be there no matter the time. Though that is a drag about that bus driver... I agree arriving in Disney will be a first time for everyone at some point, so it is important to remember that...
I don't know that we've ever had a driver that didn't at least acknowledge his passengers in some way or maybe say some little something about the approaching sign. We've had great ones that made it very exciting, and many people cheered as we went through. That night, I was just thinking,
'Let me get off this bus and get this trip going in a better way'.

The next morning.....
Sleeping baby.
Time to give up the paci long enough to get dressed.
Two Bellas.
Walking away from our building toward the bus stop.
Ring around the Roses at the bus stop.
Bella calls it 'Wozy'.
Lola was playing along happily, even though she was being choked!
Magic Kingdom dressed in autumn colors.
Brooklynn ready to watch the opening show.
Good Morning!
That's it for right now. I'm just going to really try to stay on top of this one and keep it going. Maybe we will manage to finish this one sooner than the day before we walk out the door for the next one.
