and i want everyone to love disney as much as i do! no easy task! LOL!

we're heading down in january for five days with another family... they are so "mediocre" on the whole thing and i am dying for the most magical trip of our lives (hoping to convert them of course)... it's currently the plan to stay five nights at pop century (our family in 2 rooms, the other family in 1)... i am hoping to book us a pontoon premium wishes cruise for one night and am buying "matching" tee shirts w/everyone's fave character on them and already ordered a bunch of goodies for the kids (lightchasers and such) :wizard:

now i'm thinking that maybe i will surprise all of us by upgrading our resort to contemporary concierge level, but not charge the other family any more than they are expecting to pay for pop... if we stayed at the CR, my family would only take one room so that would offset the difference a tad :rotfl:

am i crazy?! what else can i do to convince people that disney is as awesome as all of us here know it is? :earboy2:

HELP!

Wow, you're going to pay for their upgrade?? That's pretty generous.

Want to try to convert me??

Seriously though, I know anyone should be ecstatic about that, but you never know how some people will react. Maybe they really want to stay at Pop and don't know how much better the Contemporary would be. Just a thought.

i'm really considering it... dh will want to kill me, but i can't help it... i've stayed at pop and it was great... we loved it... but the thought of concierge and the amazing location of the CR, well, i just can't seem to get the idea out of my head...

they don't care where they stay... they don't even care where they go... that's the crux of the issue... they want to go away in the winter... they want to go w/our family (we're a lot of fun LOL)... they want no part of planning... they just want to know what to pack and when to show up... we're going to wdw (we have airfare credit to use up and non-expiry tix left from our last trip, so it's a no-brainer for us to go to wdw)... so that's where they are going too...

hence my overwhelming desire to make it super-magical and "convert" them or at least show them what we see in it, kwim?

Gigi - can I come with you????? PLEASE??????

Only kidding, planning my own trip for Feb 06 and just recently thought of upgrading too. My DBIL and his new wife eloped earlier this year and never had a honeymoon. I was thinking Poly but really want GF. Since DMIL and DFIL are joining us as well I felt they should be pampered a little too (their anniversary is the 2nd day of our trip.) Let me know what you decide.

I commend you on your admission of being a disney junkie. I, too, am a Disney Junkie, totally addicted to the Mouse and his House. There must be a 12 step program somewhere but I'll never go, LOL.

It sounds like quite the Grand plan, my only fear is that given that they are so laid back about the trip that they might not "appreciate" the fact that they are staying CR Concierge. I am not casting aspersions on them or implying that they are rude or ungrateful, but what if you spend all that extra money and they are sort of "blase" about the whole thing?? Would that make you upset given that you have overextended yourself to bestow the Disney Magic on them and they don't even realize how magical it is??

I like the idea, its definitely very generous on your part and I'm sure no matter where everyone stays, it will be a great vacation for all of you.

That is very generous, but I think you should stick with POP, or maybe even book a mod instead. You're going to the place you love and your friends will surely get that vibe from you and have a blast. IMHO. :goodvibes

I'm a junkie, too. Just look at my handle!

had not thought about that angle... i am desperately trying to find something to get them "jazzed" about the whole trip and it's killing me that they are, like you said, blase' UGH!

you're right, they might not appreciate the CR or concierge... so i should save that trip for when i decide to take a few of my fave dis'ers? :rotfl2:

methinks i'll buy them an UOG and call it a day! LOL!

thanks all for helping me to see the light! :sunny:

I just can't figure out how someone can't be totally absorbed in a Disney World vacation. My DSIL, DBIL and 2 kids went to Disney 6 years ago and have no plans to go back. They say they've seen it and don't need to see it again. :confused3 WHAT??? We go at least once a year and there are always new things to see and do, places to eat... Oh well, to each his own. BTW, what a nice thing to do for your friends... Maybe once they get there, they will be hooked.
