And now, week 3 of my moving to Florida Diary. :teeth: This week's subtitle is I Am Woman... I Can Do Anything!
:thewave:

8/15-8/18
Who knew there could be so much landscaping to do around this house. I only have a quarter acre! More weeding, planting and mulching. I continue to work my way around the house painting what needs to be touched up. I still don't like ladders but am finally getting the hang of being on one. The bathroom wall is finally done.

I still haven't received any more information from the realtor and will probably send another email to him on Thursday. I'm sure things are very hectic down there because of Charlie. I don't even know if they have power or an Internet connection at this point.

8/19
I finally finished the painting on the front of our house. There's a lot more to do but none should be as bad as the front work was. Pulled more things down from the attic and sorted them.

8/20
Decided we will replace the rug in our bedroom so I was off to pick out new carpeting. Spent the rest of a very humid day moving some of the furniture around to rip up the old rug.

8/21
Continued on with the rug removal. You can't believe how much junk collects under a wall to wall. Our floors here are cement and year's worth of traffic has caused the cement to break into minute particles the consistency of sand. I spent a long time sweeping and vacuuming it out. I wonder if rug ripping will ever be an Olympic event? :p Blessedly the cold front finally moved through late in the day and chased all that soggy humidity out of here.
After emailing the realtor on Thursday, I continue to wait for a reply. I hope everything is OK and will probably try a phone call next week.

You've been working hard. There's just so much to do when you move, isn't there?

I just saw your post that you are moving here - read back a ways to see that you are going to be looking in Clermont. I have a cousin and some friends that live there - and yes, it has changed a lot in 3 years! Was the hospital there when you last visited? There is a Shopping center with a McDonald's and a Super Target.

Clermont was on the west edge of Charley, so there wasn't as much damage as in Kissimmee to the east. As far as I know, no one there lost power.

Anyway, hope this info helps. Good luck with your move.

OK, I just have to say I'm impressed with the carpet removal!

Thanks again for posting this diary. :)

I think there was a hospital there. It was a whirl wind tour I took of the town the day I was there. I remember the hills and all the lakes the most. The realtor took me by her house which is on the shore of Lake Minnehaha. I also remember that they were doing a lot of building.

That's good to know. Thanks for the info!
