My mouth hurts, my left jaw hurts, my left eye hurts, my left ear hurts

I am a big weinie when it comes to dentists and dental surgery.

I think that six very big needles is a bit much to be sticking in my jaw.

O.K., so I didn't feel the pain, but I did hear the drills. I did feel the pressure. I did smell that awful drilling stuff.

O.K., so I probably shouldn't have put this off a couple of months.

This is the first time that I have taken percadan. It seems to work for about 5 or 6 hours, then I feel sleepy, then I wake up in pain.

I am such a weinie.

I'm glad that I'm not working, because I wouldn't be much use.

I need to remember to wake up before I rinse my mouth with salt water.

I need to wake up before taking all my medication and wash the pills down with salt water.

I feel like I am at the ocean and the water washed up my nose.

I love chicken noodle soup and Ben and Jerry's Cheery Garcia Ice Cream. Great comfort food. But now I'm out of Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Star Trek is on. East wing is on next. Then law and order. I think that I need to go to buy some more Ben and Jerrys. Soup is good, but that cold ice cream feels good in my mouth and I love those black cherries and pieces of chocolate. on 2nd thought i think ill take a cabicant wait to see wveryone at disconii

Poor Ray. I'm a big baby when it comes to dental work too. I have bad gums, so I have to go to a periodontist AND dentist....and I go every 3 months.

Go get some more soup and ice cream and hunker down 'til DIS-Con II.

Awwww, Ray, I feel your pain! It's no fun having dental work! I avoid it at all cost, too, but I just had my wisdom teeth out over the summer.
I'm sure you need those percodan right now, but be careful with them. Dirving does not sound like a good idea, & I'm sure you know they're VERY addictive. Take care of yourself, & feel better soon.

Like Tia, I've had a lot of periodontal work done (I go for the visits every 3 months too), so I can feel your pain. Try to rest, take the pain meds when you need them, and think happy DISCon thoughts to get you through the discomfort.

Ray, you are not a weanie! I had to have oral surgery a couple of months ago to have all my wisdom teeth removed and that was the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life. It took well over a month before I felt normal again so don't you feel bad about having pain, it's an awful thing to go through! {{{hugs}}} and prayers for a quick recovery.

Ray you are braver than I am. When I need to have dental work done I have to go to a special dentist who specialises in people who are afraid of dentists.

I feel your pain Ray. Or at least I will tomorrow morning at 7AM. I have to have a filling replaced and I have been worrying about it all day. As I watched the news tonight, they had a long story about dentists. I had to turn it off. I think I need to find the name of bashful64's special dentist.

Now sweetie, Do you feel comfortable? Is the TV turned the right way for you? Do you need a glass of water? Are you keeping track of the last time you took a pill? Now I told you to put the time down that you took your meds. No, honey you look fine---I can't see any swelling. Now go lay your head down and just rest. I know it hurts but you'll feel better in the morning.

This is similar to the conversation I had with my daughter when she had her " smart" teeth out. Once a mom always a mom---I can do it in my sleep.

Oh I feel for you Ray.

I used to have to have all dental work done under sedation because i hated going so much.

But I have started to really trust my Dentist and he weaned me off sedation. I recently underwent Root Canal Treatment and I was very scared but my Dentist was very good.

Keep eating the Ben and Jerry's Ray, that's where I always find comfort {{{hugs}}} to you.

Oh Ray... hugs.. I lost power last night so I did not see this till the morning... Keep taking the pain pills...and be thankful you got them.. I am having surgery this morning to have a mole removed.. I am sure he will cut away and tell me to take tylenol..

Hope it stops hurting soon..
