My motto for eating at WDW: Eat till they have to roll you to the plane!!!

Going into our vacation I was on a kick of trying new restaurants. Akershus is the only restaurant that wasn't new that I allowed us to have a reservation for  I was really excited to go here again because the food was soo good the first time around and the princesses were the best we saw all vacation.

Once we were inside we got our picture with Belle but none of us were very happy with it so I won't post it. :lmao: The photographer took a picture of us from the ground so the camera is pointed up and that's not a very flattering angle for any of us. The picture came with breakfast so I suppose we can't complain. We really didn't get any good pictures because the pictures my dad took came out weird because of the lighting.

Here are a couple pictures of the restaurant

Instead of taking pictures of all of our plates I decided to just take pictures of the buffet and the hot plate they give you. This way you can see all of the food they have to offer whether we ate it or not and since it was a character meal it would have taken a lot of time out to stop everyone before they started in on their plates every time.

The first part of the cold buffet includes apples, bananas, jarlesburg cheese and salami.
foodporn020.jpg

My dad really liked the salami and I love that cheese! The cheese with the croissant makes an amazing breakfast! My mom also took one of the apples for later.

The next part you come to includes fruit and different toppings for I assume bagels. The toppings include cream cheese, onions, and capers. There is also pine apple, cantaloupe, honeydew melon and salmon.
foodporn021.jpg

I always love the fresh fruit at the buffets so I always eat that up!

This side has grapes, strawberries and cottage cheese.
foodporn022.jpg

The pastry side of the bar included muffins, strawberry pastries, cinnamon rolls and croissants.
foodporn023.jpg

I loved the strawberry pastries and the croissants. My mom enjoyed the cinnamon rolls.

Once we got back to the table our server brought the hot plate. It includes cheesy potatoes, sausage, bacon and eggs.
foodporn024.jpg

The food was good all of us liked the cheesy potatoes but the food wasn't as good as it was in December. My parents really liked the eggs though and I took a bite they weren't bad but I am just not a big fan of scrambled eggs.

Next the characters came around and we had a couple surprises this time! In December we saw Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Mulan.
This time we had Sleeping Beauty

Cinderella
DSC_0123.jpg

When my mom mentioned seeing her here Cinderella got flustered and just said "Well I am here"

Ariel
DSC_0124.jpg

My mom was soo excited to see her! Ariel is her favorite princess and she is usually just at lunch and dinner

and last but not least Snow White
DSC_0126.jpg

Now the Princesses only stopped for a picture then left right away but Ariel was the only one who took her time with us. I think it is nice that they spend so much time with the kids but I believe adults should get at least the same amount of time as everyone else. I mean we are there so obviously we want to see the princesses!

I really like this breakfast and when we went in December we also went to CRT for breakfast and preferred Akershus. The food at CRT isn't great and we felt like we only went in order to eat at the Castle. I would recommend this breakfast unless you also feel the need to eat at the Castle. The food is better, the princess interaction was better and it's cheaper (for DDPers it's also one credit instead of two).

OOP: 100
DDP: 3 table service credits
Grade: B
Comments: Our server wasn't great and the food was better in December so maybe we were just there on an off day :confused3 it was still good though and we had a good time seeing Epcot and the topiaries while the park was closed. Also we met a nice CM who put us at the front of the Soarin' line so my dad and I ended up second and third in line for the first ride of the day :woohoo:

Very interesting.

We're considering going to Akershus breakfast but have heard varied comments. We definitely want to go somewhere that has princesses.

Good work on the thread so far!

Great report!

Now don't be hating peeps, but I have to say it. What is WITH Ariel's eyes? I have seen a couple pictures of her on other reports and she always has that Stepford Princess look going on. Of course every Disney picture of me has me with closed eyes, so what do I know?!

More food please!

Great reviews so far! I had the chicken at WPE also and it was so good. I had the Caesar salad instead of potatoes, but maybe I made the wrong choice!

Hey you can always try it next time ;)

Based solely on princesses I would recommend Akershus. I thought that they princesses at Akershus were more in character than CRT and you see most of the same just Belle instead of Cinderella.

Great report!

I thought her eyes were a little bit weird because she was wearing contacts :confused3 I had never seen a princess with colored contacts before

Yay! Another great update. I wish we were big breakfast eaters. We are going to Crystal Palace for breakfast in July but that's the only breakfast. :)

Thanks for the Akershus review, I'm planning an ADR for breakfast there in Sept with DD(DS asked to be excused since we're dragging him to 2 other princess meals:rotfl:) Glad to hear that you enjoyed it, it looks like alot of fun.

Subscribing. You and your parents are absolutely adorable! you and your mom look so much alike!

That should be fun! We used to go there for lunch on our trips but the food got a little bit exotic for us so now we stick to Akershus.

I am sure you and your DD will have a great time! You might want to talk to your son though in my opinion Akershus has the cutest princesses ;) That's how we got my dad to go along with it :lmao:

Hi! Just found your DR....loving it so far! And that popsicle does look yummy! Thanks so much!
So I think Dole or Disney should be paying me for all of the publicity I am giving that popsicle :lmao: I am so happy you are enjoying my review!

Boulangerie Patisserie
The Patisserie is a stop me and my family have to make whenever we go to Epcot. My dad and I love the cheese plate and it has become a tradition to get it every trip!

So after a couple hours of saving the world from Kim Possible's archenemies it was time for lunch!

Here are some pictures of your options at the Patisserie

This is what we had for lunch
foodporn031.jpg

My dad had the cheese plate which comes with the loaf of bread
Also his first drink of the day was the Grey Goose Slushie which is like lemonade with Grey Goose Vodka it was $9
I had the ham and cheese sandwich (my mom is cutting it in the picture we were going to share it but she didn't like it)
I also had the chocolate mousse which was AMAZING!
My mom ended up eating just the Cream Puff which she really liked

Everyone enjoyed their food so it was definitely worth it!
OOP: around $17
DDP: We would have only been able to use two snack credits for the Cream Puff and the Chocolate Mousse
Grade: an A every time
Comments: Everyone should stop in there while they are at Epcot I love the theming and the food is so good!

Before we left France my dad wanted another drink
foodporn032.jpg

Here is a pic of the wine/beer selection
foodporn033.jpg

This time he chose the Grand Mariner (sp?) Slush ($9)
foodporn034.jpg

My dad liked the Grey Goose slush better but said that this one wasn't bad.

Walking some more around the World it got hot! I had heard about Kaka Gori from the Disboards so I knew I had to try it! It is located in Japan.
foodporn035.jpg

I loved it!
I chose the rainbow with strawberry, cherry and tangerine! They flavors all mixed well together and it was very refreshing after a long hot walk!
It's only $3.28 or one snack credit!
It was amazing and definitely and A=:thumbsup2

Since my mom never ate lunch we stopped by Sommerfest in Germany
She got the Bratwurst served with sauerkraut and roll and I got her dessert the Bavarian cheesecake
foodporn036.jpg

My mom liked the Bratwurst but didn't like that it didn't come with a side like chips or some kind or salad.
I loved the cheesecake! I had to scrape most of the powdered sugar off of it since it was a little too sweet but after that it was soo good! Also the top is like a yellow cake and the bottom is too! It's a little different but the worth the stop!

OOP: 12.77
DDP: 1 counter service credit
Grade: A
Comments: Anyone who likes cheesecake and bratwurst would want to stop here!

Last picture My dad's last drink around the world for the day Dos Equis
foodporn037.jpg

He liked it
So far he is definitely helping out my research :lmao:

That cheese plate and bread look so yummy! I think we will have to get that as a snack and some boozy slushies in 13 days! What types of cheeses were they? Was the bread cold or room temp? Was there butter too?

Wow! Why are you torturing me????? Hunh???:lmao:
I'll let you in on a little secret...I'm preggos so this food is making me hate my Hamburger Helper Stroganoff. :rotfl:

I worked at the Virgin Megastore for a while a few years back, and I used to go get the chicken and mashed potatoes. That picture that you posted brought back some very fond memories :lovestruc It has to be some of the best I've ever had :worship:

I have heard so many good comments on the cheese and bread I'm definitely having that for lunch one day.....oh who am I kidding, I'll be having the Grey Goose slushie too:confused3

Great report so far, makes me hungry!! I guess I should have eaten dinner before I started reading reports:rolleyes:

I just stumbled onto this dining review because I love the title!:thumbsup2 I loved WPE last time we went and have convinced everyone else in our group that we need to eat there again. My DH can't wait to try the Boulangerie Patisserie so thanks for the photos on that. Looks so good! Love the outfit that you are wearing at the breakfast by the way. Cute! Can't wait for more food porn!
