I feel your pain and am so very sorry you had to watch your Mom suffer like this. It is heartbreaking and a real test of faith to watch loved ones be sick and die little by little each day. Sadly, I lost my Dad last year, after years of battling cancer. I gain comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering or in pain, but safely at home with God. God bless your Mom and all the Hospice caregivers. It takes time to heal and may God grant you the strength and faith to face each new day. Enjoy all the wonderful memories, her spirit will live forever in your heart.

My prayers are with your family. I know you said your husband wasn't religious, but I am not sure if you are. I lost my Mom just a week ago yesterday to cancer and the only thing that has gotten me through it is knowing she is healed.
