We'll be visiting my mom in February for a few days. She lives near DW. As a resident, I know she can get a discount. Is she allowed to buy our tickets for us? She's not interested (or able) to enjoy the parks with us but wants to get our tickets for us if she can get them a little cheaper. Is that possible or does the Floridian purchasing the tickets get a discount only on his or her ticket?

In the nutshell, she buys to get us a discount but doesn't go with us. Is that allowed?

Thanks Tigger, I suspected as much. I guess we'll have to just suck it up and pay full price. I've checked with AAA and clicked around quite a bit on the internet and there doesn't seem to be discounts for people going for a couple days.

Do they make you show your ID at the time of purchase or when you enter the park? Because if it's only at the time of purchase, I don't see why she couldn't buy you hoppers for a few days....I know for military passes it's at the time of purchase and i know a lot of people that give those tickets to their kids. I have military passes that i use (I work for nat'l guard) but I am a civilian, and i have never been asked to see my military ID at DLR. But I don't know if it's the same for FL resident passes.....maybe a CM knows?

at time of purchase, unless you're getting the vouchers through places like the disney store. then you have to show them at the ticket window when you redeem them. when we moved here and got our AP's we still had out of state licenses. so we had to bring proof of residency. same thing on the renewals, they won't renew unless you have you ID.

From disney.com under the FL resident 3-day ticket panel:

"Proof of Florida residency for each adult is required for purchase and use (see details in More Info)...

Delivery & Will Call Options: If you select to receive your ticket via standard mail, an exchange certificate will be sent to your shipping address. To redeem your ticket, bring the exchange certificate and valid Florida Resident photo ID to any Walt Disney World® Theme Park ticket window. If you select Will Call, you should print a Will Call Certificate after completing the transaction. Then, bring your certificate, along with a valid FL Resident ID, to any Walt Disney World® Theme Park ticket window to pick up your tickets.

Proof of Residency per adult is required - you must provide any one of the following:
* Florida driver's license
* Florida state-issued ID card (must have Florida address)
* Florida voter's registration card with corresponding picture ID
* A college ID for a Florida college
* Florida-based military ID"

If you buy a ticket there, you have to provide ID.
If you get tickets in the mail, you receive an exchange certificate, and you have to show ID to redeem it.
If you use a FL Resident ticket and you are not a FL resident and you are caught, you'll pay the difference.

No one has to pay full price for a pass to WDW. Try Mousesavers and subscribe to the newsletteer . The 15th of the next month you will get a newsletter with a link to Ticketmania and save money on all types of tickets.

If you are going soon, use the search feature at the top of the page here and type in "discount tickets". Beside Ticketmania, there are others recommended by DIS'ers. You can even save money if you get the tickets from the official Disney website before you go. Cheaper than paying full price at the gate.

They print the FL RES's name right onto the passes, much like an annual pass.

Only that person can use it.

Thanks for the help. We're only going for two days, so that precludes us from most discounts including AAA, but I will try the search recommended.

YOu should price it out because it's probably cheaper to get a non-expiring 3 day pass than pay full gate price. If there is a chance you would ever go back, the tickets are good forever.

We went to the parks 5 days the last time, but the 10 day non-expiring pass was such a good deal, we are now ready for the next trip, too.

We moved to alabama recently but i still have my fl drivers license. It just expired in nov. I will be purchasing a one day park hopper in early march, can i still use my fl license? will they notice it is expired?
