O.K. I've read some journals and decided this is a great idea!!! My family and I are returning to WDW in September 2008. We had our 1st family trip to WDW October 2007. I had the same experience as many that I've read when looking at the pictures of me on our vacation. Isn't it strange how you can look in the mirror and think everything looks more or less o.k. but pictures just do not lie. One reason I did not want to purchase the photo pass CD was because I was not o.k. w/ how the photo pass photographers conspired to add about 20 pounds to all my pictures.:scared1:

So, needless to say we enjoyed our vacation immensely thus our return trip this fall. My hubby is on a quest to gain 20-25 pounds of muscle weight by our trip. He is not underweight, infact seems just right to me now as he does work out and have great muscle tone. But he wants to be even more muscular. So I said, Hmmm:idea: that's exactly the amount of weight I want to lose. So now we are on a joint quest! Me to lose 20-25 pounds and He to gain it (in muscle).

I am the mother of 2 beautiful girls ages 7 and 4. After my first daughter I became even fitter than pre-pregnancy by running 1/2 marathons. I love running! Well, as with most people, running = injury. Thus plantar faciatis and morton's neuroma (both feet injuries). In my case the neuroma needed surgery on both feet. No more running:sad: I recently had surgery on my right foot and it is almost ready to run, however, I still need surgery on my left and that won't happen until after our trip to WDW.

Since having my youngest daugher I just haven't been able to get off that 15-20 pounds I put on during pregnancy. And yes, she's 4 today actually.pixiedust: Good day to start my new goal. It's not like I haven't been trying. In fact about 18 months ago I lost 15 pounds through Body for Life but then gained it back.

I can't bring myself to type my current weight. Lets just say according to the BMI chart I am not yet considered over weight but I am very close to teetering the line. I carry it all in the midsection thus have been asked a handful of times if I'm expecting when I am not. I know, that's not exactly a laughing matter but what else can you do? Oh, yeah lose it.

My former running partner (best friend) and I are going to work towards getting our first triathlon done this summer. I figure I can hopefully run or hobble the 3 miles at the end before my feet give in. So I want to look great enough to race in a swim suit and wear a mini Minnie costume ::MinnieMo to MNSSHP in the Fall. GO ME!!!!!!!!!!!

On top of all these motivating factors is the fact that I have spent thousands of dollars on medical bills this year from nausea and strange, painful back pain (near gall bladder) after eating. After all the test the doctors have not been able to diagnose anything. Except that I may have acute gall bladder inflamation. I was given the choice to remove it and suffer those consequences or try to avoid fatty food, most protein, and other foods that cause reactions such as beans and corns. I'll get more into that latter, I have a lot to learn and it is not easy. I have found that when I stick to mostly vegetables, fruit, and fish I do not suffer the pain. It's just sticking with it that I need to do. It will be worth it if I can get the pain to go away and stay away.

So here's to my heath, happiness, and fit physique:beach:

Welcome to the Journals!!!

Good luck on your journey... You can do it!:cheer2:

The Tri will be Aug. 3 (Just 10 weeks away)
I also want to continue weight lifting 3x/week 45 min. each
I do not believe in excessive exersizing.
So, sample weekly workouts:

Mon.- Lower Body Work Out (LBWO) + 30 min. interval run
Tues. - Swim
Wed.- Upper Body Work Out + 30 min. run
Thurs.- LBWO + 30 min. run, bike, or swim
Fri- cycling class
Sat.- long run (up to 1 1/2 hours)
Sun.- swim

O.K. This will be day 1 as I really did not start anything yesterday. Had pizza and cake w/ my daughter for her birthday and did not exersize. The pizza made me very sick and made my back pain (gall bladder) hurt.

Daily Goals:

#1 - measure myself today (waist, hips, bust, thighs, arms, calfs)
#2 - Work out (run 30 min. plus ab class at gym)
#3 - Liver cleanse diet (no sugars, fructose syrup, processed foods, no refined carbs, no fatty meats) lots of vegies!!!! lots of water!!!!

I'm going to start tracking what I eat on FitDay again as that really keeps me conscious.

I need to increase the availability and variety of raw vegetables and fruit in my house. I find myself grabbing refined carb foods when hungry because I'm tired of apples and celery.

My plan to increase my health is to basically eat a 90% vegetarian diet w/ no processed food or refined carbs. Have one serving of fish per day.

I will continue using protein powder for shakes.

Today's food goal:

#1 - protein shake w/ little fruit + flax oil

#2 - raw vegies

#3 - vegetable soup:stir: , alvacado + tomato salad

#4 - raw vegies + fruit:banana:

#5 - shake

#6 - fish + salad

I know if I can just eat right, my health will improve. I love exersize so I'm not worried about lack of exersize. Why is it that you can have the best intentions in the morning and end your day eating starburst? I'm determined to stick w/ healthy eating today. Not just for weight reduction but also to improve my health issues.
